Flat shoes?

zephydragon, 2 January, 2014 at 18:01 Posted on Planning 0 14

I can't be the only bride to be who never wears heels and so doesn't want to start on her wedding day?! I'm used to wearing DM boots/converse/Vans-style shoes and I'm not even sure about wearing kitten heels despite the fact that my OH is a foot taller than me! Also dolly shoes don't tend to work for me because my feet are quite wide. Has anyone got any ideas?

Not tempted to wear DM's/converse on the wedding day? You can get white pimped out converse if you wanted to make it a little bit different!

Hmm, that's tempting, although a little expensive... I was thinking perhaps some shoes that are a bit platform-y to add a bit of height but still comfortable - has anyone had any experience of wearing shoes like that?

I didn't end up going for these after all but these Rainbow club wedges are so comfortable - they've got a soft lining inside and the heel's not too high. Most John Lewis shops seem to stock them. May be worth a look? They are a bit pricey though at £75.

How about a pair of pretty embellished sandals, or ballet pumps? I can't find the right heel height and im getting married outside so I'm really tempted to go for flat sandals, something like this:

I need flat shoes, but I'm hoping to have a knee length dress.... I have no idea what to wear footwise.

ETA - definitely buying the converse as a wedding gift to myself!

I'm wearing the flattest shoes I could find! I'm 6ft and my OH is slightly shorter than me so I really don't want to be any taller on our wedding day!

I wore flats after the first dance, my feet were killing me by this point! I got some lovely pale pink ballet pumps from Dorothy perkins which had diamantes and jewels on the toes in the sale for about £8 just by chance on a shopping trip. Probably one of my best purchases as I wouldnt have been able to dance the night away without them!

I'm not going to be wearing heels on my wedding day. I am about 1.5 inches taller than my OH anyway so don't want to be towering over him LOL

I am planning on getting some cute open toed ballet pumps with plenty of sparkle and wearing them for the whole day.

So glad there are more of us brides to be that aren't wearing heels! The ladies in the dress shops thought I was mad haha!!

Hi, I've just come across these on Very, if you're not keen on heels they're a bargain so wouldn't be a waste if you never wore them again. They come in normal and wide fit
