Flats or heals?

sineadw, 6 May, 2010 at 14:30 Posted on Planning 0 23

I cant decide and i think its time for me tyo start getting a move on now! There are beautiful heals out there but not sure how my feet would cope and i dont want to worry about walking funny! Also id love to look quite a bit smaller than my fella in the photos instead of only an inch or two differance if i wear heals! does anyone have any suggestions for a ballet pump style, kitten heals wouldnt be me, im a heals or nothin!

Im a heels fan!!! Especially with that beautiful dress!!!! Maybe you could go just over a kitten so a decent heel without being MASSIVE

    something like this:

U know actually i never thought about it but that dress really wouldnt go with flats would it!! i need to stop and buy a big pretty pair of heals like i know i want to, ill just end up in bare feet as always!

Wow what about these, just spotted them and the bow reminds me of the shoulder of my dress...or the layers of yours aswel actually!!! Not

sure there would be much height differance between me and oh thou, heal giddyness is y i should stick to flats!

I'm usually heels through and through too, I always wear them on a night out and to work mostly too. But I really really didn't want anything too high on the day because I didn't want that burny feeling you get! I don't mind it too much at the end of a night out or on the way home from work, but just didn't want it on my wedding day. I'm not really a fan of kitten heels either though, so I found a pair with what I'd describe as a 'medium' heel - not too high, definitely not too low.

This is the only pic I can find of them, they are much nicer and sparklier in real life, and look much better when they're on your feet actually, but you might be able to see what I mean heel-wise:

Well I'm going for some ballet pumps - as at 6ft1, i'm already taller than my groom-to-be and i don't want to tower over him in the pics etc. Plus found some (in Evans of all places!) in purple i.e. our colour scheme.

    It's a tough decision I haven't made it yet!

On the whole why not go for a small heel (this is my comprmise the heels I love make me as tall as oj and he wouldnt be keen but flats would make me feel frumpy in my dress so I am comprmising if I can find any).

I would say a nice medium heel for ceramony and a pair of flats for the evening if your worried about comfort! remebr they don't have to be white (especially the evening shoes) so buy some you can use again on a night out

I've gone for a kitten heel (the shoes in my avatar) so no help I'm afraid! Could you have heels for during the day and flats for later incase you want to change?

I've gone for a small heal so I walk like a lady rather like a slop in flats or an accident waiting to happen in big heels!

Be careful with shoes that have a bulky element at the front like the bows and especially anything with diamontes or rough edges as they will play havoc with the hem of your dress. My bm wore shoes with diamontes and her hem was wrecked in a few minutes. The bow from the Paris Hilton collection could constantly catch the hem and in the photos might have the dress sitting all funny unless you have a big hoop.

I didn't realise until my bm said her hem was trashed. She has been captured on video trying to snap the thread on her hem because her shoes ripped it all and that was before the ceremony even started. I'm just glad she realised before walking down the aisle and falling flat on her face!

I'd say a heel, just so that the dress flows better and posture is better etc. also i'm about 6 inches shorter than OH so wanted to close the gap a wee bit. i went for something low as well, planning to wear them while hoovering/cooking so i can break them in!!

I had a shoe debate for ages!! I'm 5'3 and H2B is 6'3 so i wanted to wear heels to close the gap a bit so i didnt look like a dwarf in photos!!! However, i also didnt want that horrid feeling you get after being in heels for hours and hours.

I also thought about heels for day and flats for the evening but if my dress was made right length for heels i'd be tripping over it all night - something to think about.

In end i went for the ones below - they are about 8cms so not huge but more than a kitten heel. They are so comfy so i hope they'll be ok.
