Florist HIBS . a quick question

Vintage84, 10 January, 2013 at 18:57 Posted on Planning 0 4

Evening! I'm thinking of using my bouquet & the bridesmaids bouquets to decorate the top table & I suddenly had the genius idea of using Kew Botanics plant pots to hold them in (will attempt to flash but not sure it will work). The smallest pot is 16cm high....is this deep enough to hold a bouquet? My flowers will be hand tied, nothing too structured, using avalanche roses, ranunculus, eucalyptus leaves & spray roses (to give you an idea of its size).

Difficult to say really as it depends on what length of stem your florist will leave on. Some florists work with a third of the stems showing on hand-tieds whilst others leave the stems a bit longer. If it's quite a large posy, there may be a chance it could topple over in a small pot. Are you planning onhaving water in to keep it fresh or wanting to place it on the table as decoration only? If you think you may want water in, I'd go for one slightly taller if poss.

These pots are really heavy for their size, they're designed to be used outside so I don't think the BM bouquets would topple in them but I didn't consider that mine will be quite top heavy...

I would put water in them but maybe I'll just put the BM bouquets on the table.

    Thank you!!
