Flower centre displays and guests....

LouLaBellexx, 27 April, 2013 at 22:09 Posted on Planning 0 7

Evening All!

Can anyone help....

We are having flower centre displays and I would like to chose one person on the table to have the flowers from their table at the end of the night

I would like to leave little note on their setting telling them this.

Has anyone seen this before or know of a little poem/ note that explains I would like them to have the flowers?

Thank you! xx

I agree with ravioliruby - it would be a bit awkward! Especially if there was a note saying how amazing this person had been to you.

I do think it's a lovely idea to give the flowers away though Smiley smile

    Hi,

When I was at my friend's wedding last year she gave the flowers to one person on each table too. I can't exactly remember how it was done but I'm pretty sure it was that they had put a tiny heart sticker or something on the bottom of one favour box on each table and people who had one were asked to stand up. They were then told that they would be given the flowers to take home at the end of the night. It was made to look like a random selection and felt like a game so nobody was offended at all as far as I know. (Thinking about it now, it probably wasn't random but it was quite a nice way of doing it!)

I agree that it may be an awkward situation and a bit embarrassing for the person who's been selected as the chosen one. We gave all the centrepieces and the pedestal arrangements to guests at our daughter's wedding. My son-in-law announced during his speech that all the flowers were going to be given away afterwards and if anyone wanted any, to come and let me know as I'd made them and it was first come, first served! I definitely didn't want to take any back home as they'd been hanging around our house since they were all finished and I'd seen enough of them to be honest! I'd already saved one for Mum-in-law as she'd already asked and most of the others went to Aunties.

We're planning to take ours to the local nursing home to give around the day after the wedding Smiley smile

The home means a lot to us and I think it is a beautiful way of making people smile (idea was taken from Pinterest!)

I love the idea of a sticker on the bottom of the faours though! can be made to look random and takes away the awkwardness Smiley smile

    Thanks for your replies.

Im 100% sure with our friends and family there would be no 'awkwardness' if someone was chosen to take the flowers.

Love the idea of a little heart sticker or something similiar xx

I put my mum in charge of telling each table at the end of the night that somebody needed to take the flowers home.

Giving them to a nursing home is a lovely idea.

At my friend's wedding she just put them all out somewhere at the end of the evening and as she said goodbye just mentioned it to the people she wanted to have them. There were lots and when she had given out to the special people she used the rest to send to people who hadn't made it, or anyone who just wanted one.
