flower delivery recs

I want to send some flowers, can you guys recommend a place?

from their website, I have to say i am most impressed with interflora, but they strike me (unfairly perhaps?) as the clinton cards of flowers, and i can't help thinking I could get better and cheaper elsewhere! I'm also aware they quality would depend on the shop they come from.

Not particularly impressed with JL (NOT OFTEN i say that) or M&S- both display the flowers in vases or jogs not included so I'm wondering how they are going to be delivered.

I'd like something that looks instantantly nice as i want it delivered to my sisters work as she has to work on her B day. I know some (tescos) deliver in cardboard boxes which I don't fancy (am also boycotting tescos, long story)

I also quite like the idea of sending cup cakes or other gorgeous things but i'm certain interflora are not the best there.

It needs to be reasonably nationwide as I'm ordering from London to be delivered in Oxford. I wanted to spend about £30-£40.

TIA

I've always had good experiences with interflora, can you use a local florist who are part of interflora? I would advise against using Next as well, I had an awful time with them, seriously let me down (they tried to deliver 2 days after they were supposed to and I had already cancelled due to let down, then had to fight to get a refund)

I usually just find a florist local to where I want to deliver them to, ring them direct with my budget and the sort of thing I'm after and let them do the rest. I've never had any complaints (and always seem to get a lot more for my money)! But I don't know if I'm unusual in my approach!

I too get that feeling about interflora and prefer something local. However lots of the ppl i'd send flowers too are based all over the country. I've used teleflorist several times and never been disappointed yet with the quality or the service (last time I used them I ordered at 0930 and they were delivered by 1100). Think they're .co.uk, but googling will bring them up. They do same day delivery for orders before 3pm I think.

I've used them in the Oxford / Reading area (Wallingford for example) and the flowers were beautiful.

Thanks so much all! Teleflorist and arena look wonderful. I ask my mum about a local florist, then if they're interflora I can always order that way.

I've never had any complaints re: Interflora - always delivered on time & the displays have been impressive in quantity & quality.

I have used both Next & John Lewis (I was a bit bored of what Interflora offer) in the last 2 weeks - both were delivered fine & I had good feedback on the flowers but haven't actually seen them myself. I did worry when I realised the JL flowers were delivered by CitiLink as I've had nightmares with them in the past - fortunately the recipient was at home when the flowers arrived.

There was a thread last week around edible deliveries - amazing looking cookies & cupcakes etc!
