Flower girl dresses - where have you got yours from?

jen_84, 24 February, 2012 at 13:43 Posted on Planning 0 13

I'm looking for a FG dress in ivory which has a purple sash around the waist (or one that can have this added), is suitable for a 5 year old, so reasonably high neckline, thick straps, and has a netting over the skirt. Would love some sparkly bits on there for her. I'm not a fan of the BHS ones as I've heard the petals can get quite clogged up in the skirt, and John Lewis and Debenhams don't have any that have the purple sash I am after. I have seen a perfect one by Mark Lesley, but at £116 in my bridal store, it's way over budget!

Any inspiration or ideas about where to look would be greatly appreciated.

These are both from monsoon & both ivory. The 1st is £75 & the 2nd £46. You could add sash.

I got a bhs one in ivory and added a sash from the bottom of one of my bridesmaid dresses (one of them is a shorty!)

    Have you looked on ebay?

Oh my god! I love these!! I want to buy them right now as I'm afriad they won't be there next year.

Do you think it's safe to buy them yet? One girl will be 4 1/2, the other 2 1/2, so do you think if I bought the 4-5 yr and 2-3 yr it would be ok? I know they're just guidelines...

Ahh, I can't bring myself to do it- what if they don't work out??

BHS all the way, the sash is easy peasy to take off and put a purple one on, weve done it. Also petals do come out of them dresses as you have to take the out for cleaning the dress HTH x

Thanks ladies. None are quite what I am after unfortunately. I've found one on Amazon but the seller has no reviews which puts me off a bit.

Venart just thought I'd say that m&s kids clothes come up quite big/long, my son is tall for his age and only seems to fit into his age range towards the end of the year if you know what I mean... But with dresses it might be different anyway.

Forgot to add I orginally got this one as I wanted to add a coloured sash, but decided not too, it would be easy to add, plus could add to the butterfly on the dress too.

Shoes and socks from primark! £5
