Flower help!

josephine, 2 June, 2013 at 22:33 Posted on Planning 0 8

I got the bridesmaids sorted this weekend, and they look lovely in their dresses, they're both happy and I am so glad to get it sorted. However, the colour is not what I had in mind, and it will mean my original idea for flowers will not fit, which I am quite disappointed by.

Here is a picture of the bridesmaids dress:

Can anyone suggest any flowers that will go with this? I get married at the end of August, and I want in-season flowers, preferably British. I have an appointment with a florist a week on Tuesday, but I would like to go with some ideas. I do not like gerberas, which I know is an obvious choice. I'm not sure what would look good. Would i be able to put some contrasting bright colours - maybe yellows, and purples do you think, or would that be a bit much?

Any ideas gratefully received.

Thanks!

Jo

The colours are lovely in that bouqet Miss C but not sure it is "english" enough. I was hoping for something sofrer. Do you think the dress is to bright to take softer flowers? Oh no, feeling stressed about it. I was so relieved to have found bridemsaid dreses that fit I didnt think it through properly. Smiley sad

How about something simple like roses and gyp..............................you could go for a contrast colour or keep it Ivory white, David Austin Roses are english Country garden roses which would look similar to the pattern on the dress.

I am sure the florist will have lots of ideas

As the color of the dress is so shining, then a yellow color kind of flower would be fine, may be jasmine flower, but I think lily should be the very first choice..
