Flower opinions please

Hedgemog , 2 February, 2016 at 21:33 Posted on Planning 0 10

So, a quick overview of what's what and then I need help choosing.

Me and OH at Gretna, just us.

White dress with silver (possibly) sash.

Grey suit with white shirt, no tie.

About £25 to spend.

Initially I thought no flowers due to cost and not knowing what to do with them during the ceremony as I have no one to give them to (BM and such) but I really like the idea of having an artificial bouquet as a keepsake. My OH will probably think it's silly so I don't feel like I can talk to him but it's a secret so I don't have anyone else to ask.

This is where you guys come in, these are my three favourites. One classic rose bouquet in white but the ribbon would be silver, the tulips I would get two lots and tie them with some silver ribbon and the last is stunning but I worry it would look too random or be too much. What do you guys think?

My personal favourite is the first one but I generally prefer pastel and paler colours. The last definitely makes a statement though and is more fun. I think if you love it and it reflects your personality go for it - no one is going to judge you on it.

I like the all, im not as keen on the orange but I love the blue

the first is classic and traditional

I always think tulips have a sleek 'gothic' elegance too them (if that make sense)

the last one is very colourful and would suit a trendy modern wedding

really up to which you think suits your wedding best

I'm not keen on the 3rd one but that's just my preference. I'd personally go for the tulips you could buy them in white and tie with a silver ribbon. You can get good quality artificial from country baskets. I almost went with tulips so that's why I like them! Ended up with roses as saw the colours and loved them.

If it were me, I'd be going for the third option - I love a bit of colour!

That said, the tulips are lovely.

Not a fan of the roses.

Let us know what you choose!

I know going against the grain here, but I really dislike roses, and the third one is my favourite, tulips coming in second. The third is just so colourful and happy, but it personal choice. You also said that you are planning to keep them in a vase, very sweet idea.

Other reason I'd more favour something with colour in, is, you'll be in a white dress, and from memory white shoes, with eloping, wont be any colour from the bridesmaids, and I think you'd need some colour somewhere else to add something that wasn't white if you went with the roses.

    I vote tulips I think.

They're a nice colourful burst against the white dress and they look more like you've picked them yourself compared to a structured bouquet- which will add to the magic of you eloping to Gretna!

I love the third one. I love a bit of colour and something a bit different. Tulips would be second and roses first. I do love roses but an all white bouquet is a little too dull for me (as I say, I like colour!) Go for the one that represents you and your personality and you can't go wrong!

Although not my personal taste, I think you should have number 3 if that's what you like. The rest of your colours will be quite muted and the pop of bright colour would look fantastic in photos.
