    http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t10/Jennie66_photo/Wedding%2029th%20June%202009/

The total cost for our flowers was less than £400 and they will last forever (If MIL2b can keep her bleedin hands off lol)

Real for me. I did think about fake but whilst some do look very real they still aren't the same and I love the smell of fresh flowers as well. This is what I had.

    This might help when choosing:

Silk or Artificial flowers are becoming more & more popular for weddings & Celebrations due to the superior quality offered. Gone are the days of plastic dew drop roses in Garish colours to be replaced by flowers so botanically correct in every detail it is hard to tell the difference. Available in a vast array of colours and always in season you can have virtually any flower in any colour at anytime of year and unlike Fresh Flowers they are always in season.

If you or your Guests suffer with Hayfever they are perfect and you have no worries about allergies spoiling your big day.

You can purchase your flowers well in advance of your Big Day so no surprises or panic on the morning of the wedding if they are not what you expected.

For weddings abroad they are perfect, lightweight & easy to transport, they can be transported as hand luggage and a tried & tested method of transportation is a large Hat box which works perfectly.

The cost of silk is marginally cheaper than Fresh but due to the excellent quality of the flowers they are now becoming comparable to Fresh. The advantage of silk is that they can be kept indefinitely if they are stored or displayed correctly.

To store your Silk Flowers before your big day always use Acid Free Tissue paper & keep them in the box they arrive in, away from damp & direct Sunlight, which will fade them.

All of our flowers & foliage are of the highest quality and you will amazed at the detail on each flower making them indistinguishable from the real thing.

Having Artificial flowers means you have a lasting reminder of your Big day without the additional costs of having your Bouquet Preserved after the event. This can be costly and add to your floral budget.

If you need any other advice about silk please feel free to contact me.

I went for silk ... (a) more cost effective - I just couldn't justify spending what florists charge for something that lasts only a couple of days but thats a personal thing (b) silk lasts forever so a nice keepsake for the wedding party who had buttonholes, my Flowergirl and me! (c) would really hack me off to see such beautiful flowers die within a day or two!!!! The hotel provided fresh flowers so we had the best of both worlds - the scent of the real, but for us and our guests something to keep forever.

I did have silk buttonholes too which were uber fabby but can't find the photo just now ....

I'm having real as I love the scent. There are some amazing artificial flowers though and of course it does allow you to have out of season flowers.

Im having mainly real, but with a few artificial flowers dotted within them to add a splash of colour as i wanted blue, but not many blue flowers are around in october. I wasn't too keen on going for all artificial as i imagined they would look cheap/tacky, but my florist has made me a sample bouquet in all artificial and im soo impressed it looks amazing, i'd defo recommend them.

I seriously considered having artificial flowers as some of them are so realistic, but at the end of the day, for me personally, you can't beat the look, scent and feel of fresh flowers!

I had real flowers. Didn't really think about artificial flowers to be honest although as Sherrie & Mrs SP have shown artificial ones are great these days

    This was our centrepieces

Thank you DianeB ... The bouquet and flowergirl pomande were from a local florist in Kirkcaldy (Rosebuds) .... the cake flowers and also the buttonholes & corsages (which I've now found photos of - hope they show - photobox can be a bit dodgy sometimes!) were from Passion Wedding Flowers who are actually a supplier on here and they were fabulous.... I also had wrist corsages done, which were fab too...!

    (photos removed.... kept disappearing!)

Real for me. I did consider artificial but I found for the ones that were believable they cost the same as real.

I also liked the idea of them going on my grandparent's grave after and you couldn't do that with artificial.

Im trying to decide what to go for as well. Mr Bees mum suggested silk flowers with fresh greenery. My step sister had silk ones at her wedding but hers where really cheap and nasty and looked terrible so this really put me off. So im going to have a look at both and then make a decision.

Good luck with the rest of your planning
