Can i ask what your budget is for flowers and what you get for that? Where do you have flowers? do yu have to go to the venue in the morning and set them up on the tables??

    Hi

I dont have a set budget as such for flowers, were lucky in that my friend is a florist so were getting our flowers at trader price which is really lucky. I think as our venue has a dedicated wedding planner who is going to be there on the day she is going to sort all that out for us, again very lucky. You could ask a friend to set them out for you if the venue cant/wont.

    Hope that has helped!!

We're getting married in an old house and we're having 2 pedastals of flowers in the ceremony room, an arrangement for the registrar's table and two small artificial bay trees with ribbon tied on. For the reception we're having tall lily vases with an arrangement on top.

Usually the florist or venue dresser will set them all up for you in the morning but I know some people who have set the decorations up themselves.

    Hello again!

have you considered silk flowers? If your budget is maybe tighter than you'd like (from what you said in your other post) the silk flowers are great as they last forever, can come in a bit cheaper, u can have whatever you want without worrying about cost if its an 'out of season' flower, and they also double up as keepsakes/pressies for folk.

I had silk and they were superb. my bouquet still sits on a shelf in my lounge 18mths on!

as far as setting up - most venues should be happy to take control of that for you, if the florist delivers to them directly they will set them up - or maybe offer table flowers / vases of flower as part of your 'deal'... its worth asking.

same for the church - most churches have I think folk who go in and set up for weddings from their community 'committee' so you shouldn't have to worry about doing it yourself, but again, its a question to ask!

any ideas of what flowers you want?

There are some great silk HIBs on here that i could recommend ...

as for cost - there doesn't seem to be any hard fast rules on this - I've seen some hideous quotes posted on here for relatively little so its well worth shopping about and making sure you're not being ripped off ... i think the cost of fresh flowers are quite jaw dropping for something that lasts just a day or three.

Totally agree with Mrs SP. i had artificial flowers too, and unless anyone actually touched my bouquet tbh you'd never have known, plus they were cheaper than fresh and still look perfect now ...15 months on.
