Flowers- all delivered to same address?

Lizzywills, 8 June, 2014 at 20:14 Posted on Planning 0 7

Really don't know if this is a silly question, but do the florists generally deliver everything to the brides house and a member of the wedding party comes and takes the grooms and ushers flowers to the church? Or is it ok to ask the florist to decorate the venue, then come to brides house with bouquets and then take buttonholes elsewhere for groom and ushers

thanks in advance

First time round all the men (except my Dad) and the MOG were getting ready at the venue. Florist came to my parents' house with my bouquet, bridesmaids' flowers, Mum's corsage and Dad's buttonhole then went to the venue with MOG's corsage, all the other buttonholes and the flowers for the ceremony room and reception room.

We are having our buttonholes and corsages delivered directly to the venue.

I find that for church weddings the flowers are delivered to the brides house, then the buttonholes are taken to the venue with whoever goes there first, eg the MOB or bridesmaids.

Our florists are decorating the church first then coming over to the hotel.

I will probably either ask them to leave flowers for the boys at the church, or at the reception of the hotel as it's only a 2 minute walk away - in the latter case I will ask the Best Man to stick his head in and pick them up, as he's my responsible adult for the day ?

Our florist delivered to two locations - she brought our bouquets, Dad's buttonhole and Mum's corsage to where we were staying, then took the rest of the buttonholes, MiL's corsage and the venue flowers (though we didn't have many) to the venue and handed them over to the best man.

It certainly can't hurt for you to ask if they will do this - the worst they can say is that it's not possible and you'll have to work out a plan B!

Our florist would have delivered to two locations (unfortunately there is another wedding already booked with them and our venue is too far for them to do both in time, so we're picking up some the day before (my bouquet, venue flowers and buttonholes for H2B, my mother and stepfather), and they're delivering the rest (bridesmaids' posies and other buttonholes) to FMIL's house on the morning of the wedding.

Any florist I was in touch with had agreed to deliver the flowers to different venues.....bouquets and centrepieces to the hotel where we are also getting ready, buttonholes to where the grooms party is and pew ends to the church. In my opinion it should all be part of the service. You just have to make your wishes clear to them...any good florist will accommodate your needs xx

We got all flower delivered to my parents house as I was getting ready there. My brother was our usher and once he got ready he brought the button holes, MOG corsage to my house where the boys were getting ready. Cannot comment on the flowers at hotel as they were provided by a different florist as part of our package but know my friend had my florist at ther wedding and she decorated both the church and reception for her as well as delivering flowers to her parents house as well as flowers to the boy's and they were in another town. Just ask for what ever suits you, remember you are paying them to provide a service on your big day x
