Flowers Centre Peice Budget??!??

JM&DM2B, 28 April, 2010 at 07:47 Posted on Planning 0 10

Hi Everyone

I have booked my venue and now i am starting to get ideas written down of what things are going to cost so that I can get my head around it all! The problem I am facing is that I really do not have a clue as to a reasonable price for centrepeices!! I dont want to go for anthing too cheap but at the same time i dont want to spend an absolute foorrrtttuunnne either.

I am thinking of going for 2 different centrepeices and alternating them per table, has anyone seen anything like this before?? If so does it work?? Ive been told by a lady who runs a flowers company that tall glass vases start from £20.00

If anyone could guide me in anyway that would be fab!!

Thank you so much

Might sound silly but do you know how many tables you're having? at ours we could either have tables of 8 or 10.....if you wanted to spend a bit more on table centres you could consider having tables of 10 people on each then you would have less tables = less number of centrepieces.

as for cost, as with anything will depend what you want - a tall table centre might start at £20 but one with lots of roses in for example will cost more than one made up of lots of foliage with a few flowers in etc etc

It depends what you are looking for. They can range from £10.00 per table to almost £100 per table it depends on flowers, vases, candles, candelabras etc.

Have a look through my centrepeice albums here:

Hi There.... Our venue has tables that seat up to 12 people on them but I was going to ask them to seat 10 per table because our room is very big and we only have about 80 for the day time but up to 120 for the evening. so I think i will be having 8 tables maybe 7 because of top table.

I know this sounds daft but do I need to have centrepeices for the evening tables too? If so I will be having around 11 tables... I think =/

Our centrepieces will just stay on tables all day & evening.....they're big and tall so i'm defo not moving them!!!!!!!

our room is really massive too so the tables can pretty much stay where they are day and night and then we are having a big dance floor down at the end of the room for the evening, i won't be having any extra tables for evening though as pretty much all of our friends will be on the dancefloor i expect!!

don't know if you've chosen your florist yet but get quotes if you can from different ones - i took exactly the same table centre pic to wedding fayres with me when looking for a florist and got quoted lots of different prices for the same centrepiece. some said £50 some were as high as £90 for the same thing!!

As the other have said it can vary from £10 to over £100 depending on size / style / dsign number of flowers/ flower varieties etc.

It is worth asking if you have to buy vases/ mirrors etc or if the florist has them for hire / loan. A lot will do them with a returnable deposit and as long as they get everything back OK it saves you on the cost of containers etc.

Our centrepieces are £44 each - we're having tall martini glasses filled with foliage, beargrass, peach roses, orange gerberas and peach carnations. They will be standing on round mirrors with 3 tealights around them and we're having champagne and orange crystals on the table too, as well as some scattered petals. We're hiring the mirrors, the vases and the tealight holders all for free from our florist, and then just have to pay for the crystals, the candles and the petals which doesn't come to much more.

Hey! we're having 2 types of centerpieces! half the tables with tall slim lily vases, lots of white flowers and greends, £70 each. the other half are having low slightly sprawling arrangements placed on round mirrors, £35 each.

paying more for 5 tealights on each table - £1 per tealight.

also the price varies greatly depending on what type and colour of flowers you are having, and the area you live in. sherrie's link has great pics to give u ideas for colours and styles xxx

As the others have said really, it depends on whether you go for floral or just mirrors/candles/table diamonds etc and how tall, what you have if you have floral etc etc. I'm a big believer in less is more when it comes to table arrangements as more oft than not, the more simpler arrangements are, the more stunning an impact they can have on a room. For tall vases with flowers in £20 is about average similar to this:-

There are a few more ideas on my website together with prices although all mine are artificial but there isn't a massive price difference these days.

We're having square tables of 8 - but 2 pushed together to make a long table of 16. We're having a small bud vase with 2 gerbera's in (one per table of 8) and they're costing £4 each.

I didn't want anything big. Nice and simple and elegant ? and bonus - it's cheaper! ?
