Flowers costs

HappyPurpleBridesmaid127, 18 February, 2015 at 16:24 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hello,
Just got my first quote back from a florist and am shocked at how much things are.
Clearly either I've been living in a hole or this is very expensive.
1 bride bouquet
2 adult bridesmaids
3 flower girls
8 button holes
£450

Am I being unrealistic!?
Thanks all x

That sounds like a lot to me. We have some flowers included as part of our package but even so, this sounds well over the odds for what you've asked for unless you are looking at some sort of exotic and rare plants?! X

Hello and Welcome to Hitched Smiley smile

Oh Wow! That does seem a tad pricey

I am having my bouquet, 2 bridesmaids, 1 flower girls, 6 ladies corsages, 10 mens corsages for £350

I suppose it depends on what flowers you want tho as some are more expensive then others ??

If that's the only quote you've had so far keep shopping around, maybe reconsider your flower options etc to g et it at a price that suits you Smiley smile

    Hi,

i think this is about right. I'm having my bouquet, 4 adult bridesmaids, 2 corsages and 5 button holes and it has come to £420. This is from a normal florist rather than a wedding specialist and I've know people pay much more.

it all depends on flowers too as already said. I'm having peonies and roses so expected to spend that little more.

Seems a lot to me, I'm paying £365 for my bouquet, 3 BMs, 5 centrepieces, top table arrangement and putting fabric swags and floral decoration for the stairs, not paying for buttonholes as we are doing those ourselves. Although I was quoted nearly three times that from another florist!

As we don't know what flowers you're having in each arrangement it's hard to tell with regards to the pricing. Of of season flowers will cost you more for example.

We managed to get the following for under £400 which is an absolute steal in London. I went for flowers that would be in season and decided to forego my dream of orchids everywhere!

    1 bridal bouquet
1 bouquet for throwing (hell no am I throwing mine! ? )
    3 bridesmaid bouquets
4 buttonholes (we're only doing them for the groom and his men)
approx 30 floral stems (roses, gyp and hydrangea) for table centres
some roses and succulents for the cake

Sounds fairly normal. I got my costs down by starting with a list of seasonal flowers. I had 1 bride, 2 bridesmaids, 6 centrepieces, 6 botton holes and a corsage for £292

    Bargain!

If you are going for roses or a bouquet that requires a lot of work it is going to be more. I just had simple hand tied ones.

I am paying £130 for 1 bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets and 10 buttonholes. But I am keeping it simple by only having gypsophilia. As others said cost it down to what flowers they use - my buttonholes are only £1.50 each!! It was an easy decision for me to have a simple bouquet because I do not want to detract from my dress and the cost of it is a massive bonus.

If this helps, I am having

    My bouquet

    3 x BM

    2 x coursages

    6 x button holes

6 x table arrangements - wild flowers in large jars

1 x large top table arrangement

    All for roughly £400.
