Ive budgeted for £1k for one bridal bouqet, one bridesmaid, six male button holes, 2 mothers things (bot sure what yet maybe wrist cosages sp.) and decorations for the tables.

However, im getting married at gorton Monastery and terrified of it not being decorated enough!

Not a lot as flowers were a huge priority for us!

Bouquet for me and BM and coursage for FG of gerberas (very cheap!), plus 7 button holes = £55.

For tables we are having balloons, and top table is having an organza swag and mr&mrs sign instead of flowers. There will be a vase for me to put my bouquet in.

For the church we are just having what is there anyway, as I say flowers not a priority for us.

    That's it!

Crikey, I was budgeting £500 with no real clue as to whether that was about right.

I want a bouquet for me, small ones for my 3 bridesmaids, flowers on the top table and flowers in birdcages on all the tables. I was thinking about a floral arch but now think I might have to double the budget for that.....

    Gosh!

We got ours from a local bargain shop, 7 inch high individual paper mache letters for £2.50 each. Really lucky my mum found them as the ones I found on the net werent what I wanted. Were going to paint them, mount on a wooden base and put them in front of me and OH.

You can get a 3inch set from notonthehighstreet.com for less than £10 but that was too small I thought, or I found wooden letters for £7.50 each all ready painted.

We spent £450 on my bouquet, 2 bm bouquets (smaller versions of mine), 2 corsages, 6 buttonholes and 10 table centerpieces which were fishbowls with an orchid inside and a small arrangement on top. A local florist provided this.

I also bought £100 worth of roses from an on-line wholesaler which the local ladies at the church used to decorate it. THey supplied all the foliage from their gardens and all the oasis etc. They were amazing and did this for a donation to the church flower fund and they did an amazing job. There were probably a lot more roses than they needed and they ended up doing a lot more arrangements than we had planned because they had plenty left but it loked stunning. I was lucky to have this offered at the church as I think for a florist to do what they did would have been very expensive

I'm going to buy the birdcages from weddingmall.co.uk as I think they work out cheaper than hiring bizarrely. I haven't worked out what flowers yet. I'm seeing the florist on Monday to find out what might be in season. I want lilac, cream and coral colours. What about you?

Thanks delphi, I want white, possibly pink roses but currently want a vintage theme so pretty simple really. i'm sure ill change my mind a thousand times. There venues we are looking at are have very ornate/fussy victorian rooms so little decoration is needed. Your colours sound lovely x

Yeah, they are great - for me they are mixing more expensive flowers with cheaper ones. My friend had hand tied poisies in jam hars in bird cages and I think they were about a tenner each:
