Flowers....foam/silk...

TheMrsMeFo, 31 January, 2014 at 17:03 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hiya,

I am not having real flowers at our wedding due to both OH and son having hayfever. I also like the idea of being able to keep my bouquet afterwards and not throwing it away. We aren't having floral centrepieces so I was thinking on getting fake flowers for the bouquets. I'm just not sure what to go for. All pictures look amazing but what if they don't look like it in real life. I can't find anyone near me who does artificial flowers so I will have to pay for a sample.

Do any of you lovely hitchers have any words of wisdom for me?

Also toying with the idea of not even bothering with bouquets but instead getting a flowery/sparkly wrist corsage and pretty bags for us instead.

Thanks!!

I've gone for foam flowers. I didn't want to spend a fortune on real ones and loved the idea of being able to keep it afterwards. I bought my bouquet, 5 buttonholes and 2 ladies corsages for £41 with postage off a florist on ebay.

Ive also gone for foam flowers (with diamante centres) so that I can keep them after, and I paid a total of £60 inc delivery for my teardrop bouquet, two bridesmaids bouquets, 4 buttonholes and a childs wrist corsage Smiley smile Couldn't be happier with the price really! x

I had silk - 8 bouquets and 10 button holes for less than £150. The other benefits, apart from those mentioned, is that they can make you a sample weeks before so you can check you like what they are going to do and then collect the while order a couple of days before. I was going to go for an eBay seller but then found a local party shop that did them cheaper.

Hi all , just had to post as I've just ordered my flowers for wedding in October ! I decided to go down the artificial route , I do like real flowers but decided I'd like something that I could keep. They are very reasonably priced and as I've got quite a small budget this was a big factor. I've ordered them from www.thebridesbouquet.co.uk/. I'm going for a navy / ivory colour scheme and they have the perfect flower in navy. I have to thank loopy_linzi003 who told me about this site. She had already received her flowers and sent me pictures when I asked to see them. And I was very impressed.

I've posted this previously on our October 14 brides thread but thought it was quite appropriate for your question too :-)
