I am sad to report that I'm waiting for my first home delivery from Asda. *sighs*

How I yearn for my Ocado days once more. They text you to tell you when they'll be there, right down to what your little van is called. They bring you a paper or some chocolate and if you flutter your eyelashes enough they even help you put your shopping away. I ❤️ Ocado.

Fear not, folks, I shall bounce back to Ocado-dom soon and that free bar of Green & Blacks will be mine once more, mwahahahaha!

Share your 'downgrades' here for a bit of lighthearted, tongue-firmly-in-cheek fun.

GO!

Before any little tantrums, there's nowt wrong with shopping at Asda (they sell powdered *** soup in the Caribbean aisle, after all!), it's only silly.

Ooooh dear, your soup was censored!

H2b has started taking packed lunches to work instead of going for sushi or pub lunches with his colleagues. I'm yet to make the same transition but am getting better with getting my work lunches from Tesco instead of M&S.

I'm wearing new look wedges, and No7 foundation today. A year ago I was rocking my lovely new Dune sandals and my Dior foundation. And you know what? I feel as good as I did a year ago - never thought that would happen.

That said, I have spent the price of said Dune sandals on a luxury pedicure at the weekend, so swings and roundabouts and all that.

I always enjoy the Tesco Home Shopping Lottery.

You never quite know what is and isn't going to turn up, and how 'creative' the shopper is with substitutions - like the time some blueberry muffins got substituted for a blueberry yoghurt.

I'm supposed to be making my own work lunches, as I spend too much each week in the Sainsburys next to my office. Today I bought sushi again! Oops!

As (apparently) chief troll on the Rimmelgate thread, I feel the need to contribute to this one.

I have been eating the old tins of chickpeas from the back of the cupboard. You know, the emergency ones, in case of a nuclear winter or something?

Also given up YSL Touche Eclat for Collection 2000! Not downgraded on my mascara though! Still using Diorshow as it is amazing. I also use Rimmel lipsticks.

Or the "Will they, Won't they" game with Asda. E.g. - order some eggs. Will they or won't they be in tiny pieces when they arrive? Apples - will they or won't they be bruised beyond recognition?

Or my personal favourite - order something really obscure and see if you get the right thing. We ordered some fresh ginger once.... we got McVities Ginger Biscuits. They didn't even try to pass it off as a substitute. Clearly whoever was in charge of putting the shopping together that day just found the first 'ginger' thing they understood and gave us that!

Yeah, what is that about? We once got 3 packets of brocolli and cauliflower, as the veg mixes I'd ordered weren't in stock. Apparently, Tesco ran out of carrots..

And how, HOW do they have NO bread?! They once told us they had no substitute for the nondescript white bread we'd ordered? Always fun ordering food from there.

I am planning on leaving my lovely plush gym and joining the council run one 3 minutes walk from my house, especially know my knee is rubbish again so I won't be doing any classes. And I've downgraded from Bird's Eye peas so Tesco value for icing my knee, does that count?

Clothes & shoe shopping? I can't remember what that is! Oh well, once I shift my baby weight by doing the 'save money by not eating diet) I'll have a whole new wardrobe again because I'll fit back into my old stuff! OH on the otherhand seems to be spending rather a lot on stag weekends so perhaps I should stop scrimping so much ?

I always buy my online food shop from asda but having read this CB I want to upgrade to Ocado after the wedding!

My main downgrade is the make up and cosmetics - as I explained during Rimmelgate! ? I even resorted to Primark fake tan but was very happy friday when I was able to treat myself to a Fake Bake spray tan as it was a VERY special occasion (my hen do!)

    NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

FTLOMB - you mean the arm weights in the cupboard? That's what our old chickpeas are used for. Reckon I'll just need to add the tahini in order to make hummous, they should be nice and pulpy by now.

I've been thinking about this today.

After looking at the wedding a/c and the "dipping" in that has happened to it the last few months (dam you Venice!!) I have serious concerns of how we are going to pay for some things!

So with this in mind our once a week takeaway is now down to monthly, only essential nights out i.e. birthday's no "I fancy a night down the pub lets go out" We have one essential night out at least once a month until the wedding plus a stag and hen weekend and stag and hen night.

I've been looking at what I can stop and think that as of tomorrow (when I use the last £2.50 on my starbucks card) my daily coffee will be no more. This should save me at least £200 as I have a coffee everyday at £2.15 a time!

I can't quite bring myself to leave Ocado.....although I am trying to plan meals so I only by essential items.

I have downgraded moisturiser to l'oreal from origins - on a deal with boots.....and I have to say actually liking it more than the origins one!

The last thing for sacrifice is gym membership or zumba classes.....I am loving zumba and go twice a week at £5 a time.....but still paying for our joint gym membership at £70 so I either get OH to start using gym more (rather than road running) and I get down there twice a week like I'm meant to or sacrifice the zumba which i enjoy more and is toning me nicely! I'm still so torn between the two!

Another one taking packed lunches in rather than buying. Limited buying near where I work anyway so was left with soggy BP petrol station sarnies at nearly £3 a pop - packed lunches are actually much nicer (especially as H makes them for me each morning!), cheaper and healthier!

I seem to be going the other way; since I started on the wedding planning, I've started having facials and getting my eyebrows threaded, and now use Dermalogica skincare instead of Boots stuff. I also changed my hair colour a few months ago, just for a little while, but it turned out I loved it so now need to re-colour it every few weeks. At the weekend I realised I have 5 different mascaras for different types of occasions ? I just upgraded my phone contract too (not wedding related but in keeping with my new expensive lifestyle).

After the wedding I will need to Rimmel myself up and go back to how life used to be as I can't afford to keep this up!

I seem to be sacrificing everything! nights out, clothes and shoe shopping, even down to getting my hair cut!! not good- its depresses me so much that i cant remember the last time i went shoe shopping (used to be my guilty pleasure!!)

keep telling ymself it will all be worth it, but struggle to believe that when my mother dyes my hair and i end up with more on my actual face than on my hair!! bless her!!

I've never been a girly girl who spends loads on self-grooming, but this whole bridal experience is just about converting me. I'm not sure how I'll readjust to not being a princess and getting pampered. I might have to get into the habit of regular manicures and buying more luxurious make-up than my usual (*breathes deeply*) Rimmel stuff.

I am failing at the saving money part too..

Expensive food - Waitrose as OH won't eat Tesco even tho is it 3 miles from our house and Waitrose is 7! Skin care has grown with facials, nails.. I refuse to give up my waxing (that would just be wrong!) BUT my beautician has done me a deal for my stupid spending this month!!!

We bought a more fuel guzzly car and moved further from work so my petrol cost has gone up!

The only thing I do save money on is my hair as I have a lady that comes to my house! ?

We have stopped going out as much, I can't wait to go back to having money to spare for impromptu nights out!

I hate Asda for home deliveries. I have used them once and they didn't turn up. Not only did they not turn up but they didn't bother to call me to warn us or explain why. I had to call them and chase. I got my delivery the following day and did not get any money knocked off for inconvenience caused... oh and they delivered the wrong shopping.

    Never again.

Keep meaning to do Ocado, I will next time I get a voucher. Esp now I know I will get free Green and Blacks ?.

If they are an hour late, call them. They will not call you. I learnt from bitter experience.
