I'm an NVQ assessor, now working with 16 - 18 apprentices. Doing a basic teaching course so I can teach the buggers numeracy and literacy. Hopefully going to start working with students who have learning difficulties.

If you think loving crime is bad, I love horror and torture movies. The more blood and guts and psychological torture the better. I love the Saw series but they're wayyy tame compared to some I've got lol (and then I do go to bed with one eye open lol) See, they're all scared of meeee now Smiley smile

I used to do HR/Recruitment work, but have recently given that up to become a florist (in training) and I just love it. Also run my stationery business, and could, if I wanted, also do a bit of massage on the side as am qualified in that too...

But for now I'm indulging my creative pixies and loving my new bloomin' job! : )))

I'm a Sys Admin (systems administrator) - I look after the company's servers, computers and networking equipment - basically if it plugs in, it comes under my job responsibility. I also help the staff with any ICT issues they have.

    Yes, I am geeky.

What a good thread! I'm a Admin assistant. (I'm a human punch bag) by day by night I write. My sister in law is training to be a CSI! Why do we as humans love crime? I must admit when I was a teenager I had a crush on a killer from the usa - not my finest year! LOL

I've been a florist for 17 years - used to have a shop but now run my business full time from home specialising in artificial wedding flowers on line. Originally after leaving school became a Secretary after doing a 2yr Business Studies course. Did that for a few years then fancied something totally different so trained to become a driving instructor and got my ADI licence with BSM. Eventually got fed up of working till 9pm every night and weekends so went into retail management for a while. Was a full-time Mum for 5 years when Alex was born then went to college to train in floristry. Love my job and wouldn't change it for the world!

I'm a barrister's clerk. I get to organise their diaries and arrange their fees and deal with all the little problems. It's stressful and busy and loud and I really love it. I used to be in recruitment but it just wasn't for me, been in my current job for over 4 years now.

Minicooper 99 yeah it's brill.....LOL. I was wary about putting it too, call centres have such a bad rep and it's not a fair one IMO! I seriously do enjoy my job though (most of the time anyway)

I work in the retention department for car insurance, dealing with customers who are kicking off about their price doubling! Ouch...

I think as long as people don't put company names it's safe enough because the jobs could be anywhere.

Sloan I'd like to know if you ever speak to the clients in person and if you do do you sometimes get scared?

What sort of things does your job involve? Like is it going through case notes and seeing what you can take from them or do you need specific questions answered to be able to build up a profile? Stuff like that I'd like to know so nothing specific to anyone.

ok, well yes I speak to clients in person and I don't get scared as such but am cautious, but they are always secure and an officer nearby. I try to figure out what their thoughts are, their background and what they intend to do, how they react etc. It's different to forensic psychology in that I work out what kind of person would commit a specific crime and why, whereas forensic is whether they were sane or not at the time they committed it, people often get confused with that. I go through case files and look at the offender then try to link other open files. I help profile criminals so help the police have an idea of who they are looking for. It's really based on behavioural stuff where I look at what makes people do the things they do.

A lot of criminal psychologists work within prisons and state hospitals like carstairs, helping with rehabilitation, it just depends how you branch out and the job that's available.
