Food help please

Kegsey, 4 June, 2009 at 13:33 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

I'm going on holiday next week with MrK and we have a cottage booked with two friends. It looks like each couple is going to cook on two nights (and eat out the other nights). We're likely to be out all day so I need ideas of meals for 4 which can be cooked/put together easily/quickly. As we are in a rented cottage, I have no idea what is going to be available for pots, pans, etc. Any ideas of what we can cook? Oh, no fish!

For one of your nights, couldn't you do a BBQ? Your cottage may already have one, or you could take a disposable, then buy some lovely sausages from a local farm shop (depending where you are going!).

I'd probably be lazy and premake a chilli/lasagne, and freeze it, but I am no Masterchef!!

Good quality sirloin steak with salad & new potatoes would be my choice. Easy to do, little hassle and the steak wouldn't require too long to cook. I'm sure if you were to google the postcode of your cottage, you may well find local farm shops or other shops with local products that would be great to cook while there.

A BBQ one night is also a good idea - disposable BBQ, salad etc. and you'd be away.

Or make up a lasagne before you go in one of your dishes and just reheat it one night?
