For those curling their own hair on their wedding day...

DaffodilWaves, 14 September, 2013 at 20:10 Posted on Planning 0 8

I bought a gadget yesterday after I saw a hairdresser using one on a bride and didn't want to recommend it until I had tried it out myself and had seen how long it lasted. It's a bit pricey but very good!

It is called Babyliss Curl Secret Styler and it is so easy to use. I used to do it with GHD's but can't do the back of my hair as well and find my arms ache.

Here is a Youtube video to show you what it's like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FJOsTg6D_w. I slept on the curls last night and my Sister in law commented today that is was still curly today. Thought if you didn't want to pay £100+ for a hairdresser then you might want to treat yourself to this?

I would always recommend a pro hairdresser because they do a fab job and you can relax but I'm just recommending this to people who don't want one.

Hope it helps someone.

It sounds just like the gadget my hairdresser was describing to me that she's using on my hair

Thats not a bad idea! I've been toying with one of these for a long time. My logic is I spent £150 on my GHD's and I've had then 6 years now and they are still amazing. So spending £120 on something that will be used quite a bit for years is ok.

This might be the perfect reason to get one Smiley laugh

I really really want one of these! I saw it on tv a while ago and it looks so easy. I hate curling my hair and it never comes out right!

Might drop a few hints to OH in the run up to Christmas :o)

I've been toying with the idea of getting one of these for months! They look amazing!!!

My hair is currently chin length though & I'm most likely keeping it this length so not sure if its worth trying to curl. I can't envisage what it would look like curly & its a lot of money to spend on something that might only be used once to experiment.

    ?

How much longer was your hair then mine? Mine is about 6 inches below my shoulders now. Works a treat on my hair. I probably started the curl about a quarter way down my hair and they lasted really well.

Mine is about 10 inches past shoulder length. It's getting really really long, but it keeps me warm in winter!
