For those that have bought journals..

*BigBird*, 14 April, 2012 at 10:40 Posted on Planning 0 11

Where is the best place to get them from? I can't seem to find any on Ebay.

I'm looking for one Mother Of The Bride and one Maid Of Honour.

How long do they take to fill out? Is it best to get them early, so I have enough time to do them both?

Thanks Smiley smile

BigBird this may seem silly but I've never heard of these journals (tbh I hadnt heard of most wedding things til I joined Hitched ;-)). What are you going to put in the journals out of interest, as it sounds like a nice sentimental pressi?

I haven't bought one, but I am sure people have got them of the ohsocherished website if that helps?

Yes, lots of people have bought them from the Oh So Cherished website. They are basically a series of questions that you answer about your relationship with the person you have bought the journal for.

I've made one for my Mum because I like crafty projects and I thought it made it a bit more personal. I think they are lovely gifts but I did find writing it quite emotional.

Thank you! I’ve just been on there and got them.

I’m giving the journals as gifts in the morning to my Mum and Sister (MOH). You answer lots of questions and add photos etc.

Tracey, what a fab idea! I would love to make one of my own, but I am rubbish at anything crafty.. I have no patience.

Quick word of advice! Give them early on in the morning, they take a while to read and before any make up is put on as both of our mums cried! I gave my Husbands journal to his Mum to give to him as he went to bed the night before as I didnt want him all emotional on the morning of the wedding!

What kinds of things do they ask? I'm thinking of getting one for my mum.

The Mum one is things like " How you have inspired me" " My favourite childhood memory" " How you calmed my wedding nerves" "When I first introduced you to my husband" " Why I'm proud to be your daughter" "How you have helped with the wedding" etc etc etc. Then there are spaces for your favourite photos of you and your Mum.

The Groom one is " Our first date" "How we met, the way I remember it" " Reasons why I love you" " Our funniest memories" " When I knew we would be together forever" etec etc etc

I have no idea why that went into bold and have no inclination to change it after a few celebratory vinos after the liverpool derby sorry!

Thanks Vanillapod. I like the sound of the groom one as well, I think its a lovely idea for it to be given to him the night before the wedding. I seem to remember it saying on the website you can remove the pages you don't want, is that correct?

I've never heard of these before either, they sound like lovely present ideas and DEFINITELY prezzies to give way before any make-up is applied. I'm a very sentimental person, so is my Mum and H2B so I think that these will go down a treat as gifts..Thanks everyone, you've given me a bit of inspiration as I was stuck for prezzie ideas!
