For those who are wearing a veil

*Little_Jen*, 2 March, 2009 at 13:35 Posted on Planning 0 6

Obviously your wearing it on your head, but if your having your hair up will you be having it above your hair up or under it ( does this make sense??

I dont know if I want it above my hair up so its hangs down by my face or under it so its out the way at the back?

Also interested in replies on this! I'm planning on having a 'low messy knot' style (looks better than it sounds!) and was hoping the veil could come out from under that. Don't want to wear it over my face.

Although I'm now interested in having something like one of these: http://www.shopbando.com/Products.aspx?cid=4 - so absolutely no idea on how a veil would work!

I will be interested in all these replies as I'm going to look for my dress soon and I don't know if I'll have a veil or not. If I have one I have no idea how I'll wear it.

    Any ideas are much appreciated.

    Hello!

I wore a veil and had my hair up. The veil sat at the top of my hairdo. It didnt really get in front of my face or anything, although maybe because it was longish. Will look for a couple of pics...

I'm having all my hair up and then my veil underneath it as i didn't want it in my face annoying me so this way its behind me. You just need to make sure that your hairdresser knows this and takes into considertin when picking/doing your hair style

Mine was above my hair and it didn't get in my face at all, the only thing it did was occasionally pull over my shoulders in the ceremony but it wasn't a big deal and didn't happen much. I wore it from getting dressed to after cake cutting and speeches and it never once got in my face - well, apart from when I had it over my face to walk into the church!

I think they might be cut to hang so they don't get in the way.

ETA - I was told to take my veil to my hair trail so we could check it would be suitable.
