Foundation for slightly oily, large pore skin?

cford09, 29 May, 2012 at 21:27 Posted on Planning 0 4

Apologies that there is already a make up thread going on but I'm just looking for foundation recommendations.

My skin is slightly oily, I have large pores and have the occasional breakout. It is also quite uneven in colour (pink cheeks, white forehead and chin, quite brown nose - sexy I know)

Can anyone recommend a good foundation that has great staying power, easily blendable and photographs well?

I don't know how well it photographs yet, but I decided to try a different make up 2 years ago and went to HoF in nottingham. I had heard that mineral makeup was meant to be good for oily skin, so had a trial at the Bareminerals counter and was completely converted. 2 years on and it is the only make up I wear. I think it really evens out your skin tone, and if you use is it with their make up primer, I find it stays put all day. To the extent that my make up remover wipes are covered in foundation powder after removing it after wearing all day.

I see you are from nottingham, so I really would suggest heading to the counter in HoF and having them do your make up.

And if anyone is looking for a waterproof mascara, their waterproof mascara is amazing. It just does not budge!

I would try elizabeth arden intervine serum and moisteriser, its amazing i have very large pores on my nose, my nose looked like a strawberry! now you can't even see i have pores! once your skin looks good any foundation will stay and look amazing however mac foundation has the best staying power for me.

I have clinique anti blemish solutions foundation that I use for everyday wear and its amazing!

I used to get quite bad skin and loads of breakouts, but hardly ever get a single spot now, and Im one of those people that always forgets to take makeup off before bed.

i second this i love my clinique and it feels so light when its on, reduces redness caused by old spots and scars and hides the dark circles perfectly, i highly recommend having a trial at your local boots or debenhams x

    Hi,

I too use all Bare Minerals and all my daughter`s wedding girls did too. It looked natural and flawless for the photos. It is worth using the primer and concealer under the foundation, and then mineral veil to seal the top. The girls on the counter will try out colours then make a list and you can gradually collect the bits. That is what we did. Now my daughter and I use nothing else. she also uses their skin care. If you are lucky enough to be near a Bare Minerals boutiue even better. Qvc have good starter kits as do Debenhams

    Hope that helps
