Foundation Help!

Wherts2b, 15 May, 2012 at 13:09 Posted on Planning 0 13

I know there's been a few similar posts recently but I can't find any and I'm stressed out!

I had my makeup trial recently and the coverage of the foundation just wasn't enough for me. She built it up but when I got outside it looked all clogged around my nose, and to top it all off it didn't last that long. I can't remember what she used but it wasn't a high street name.

I usually use Estee Lauder Double Wear which i love and would be ideal but it looks awful on photo's. I bought a bottle of Dior Forever but the coverage wasn't enough and it goes a little oily on my skin. I'm really running out of ideas. I need really good coverage and something that's gonna last and photo well!

Anyone got any other suggestions? x

I had a makeover at MAC and it was exactly the same. Had another one recently at Bare Minerals and loved it. Suggest you go to a few counters and try some more. Everyone skin is different.

Double wear light has been designed specifically to look good in photos - you could get a sample and try it?

ooh thanks! Just googled it, looks like the coverage is a little less but will certainly give it a try. I think I need to start scheduling Saturday's at the beauty counters in Debenhams and just try loads of different things

I'm just going by experience, on photos in articial light I just look like a ghost no matter how much blusher, bronzer of similar i've got over the top. And Juliet Cunnington the HIB makeup artist on here has also said same. Maybe it's because i'm quite dark skinned normally so it's more noticeable?

I always wear Double Wear and I never understand when I hear that it doesn't photograph well, but then I'm fair too.

Bare Minerals is a fantastic foundation, it can be layered and looks really natural in photographs and as a plus its excellent for your skin. You can also apply it over any other foundation or concealer and it softens your skins appearance.

I splashed out on some Benefit make-up when I was a bridesmaid for my friend 2 years ago and I've never looked back! Their stick foundation is really good, I apply it with a brush and it stays put for ages and gives good coverage.

Clinique Superbalance liquid foundation is great for super pale complexions. It goes matte and absorbs where your skin is oily, and moisturizes slightly where you are dry.
