*FRIDAY FLASH* My Save the Dates - Opinions please!

blueeyedgirl, 10 September, 2010 at 12:46 Posted on Planning 0 12

My friend who is designing my save the dates has just sent them over (and I am straight on here!)

What do you think?? (We're getting married in a castle and the pic is actually of the castle we're getting married in!) Lots of advice welcome! So excited! Eeeeeeeeeeek Also slightly welled up when I saw them - seems so final in print! I am getting married!!

I love having useful friends! Lol! And I know what you mean about little things making it seem real - I watched last week's Don't Tell the Bride whilst surgically attached to the Kleenex.....seeing her walk down the aisle made me realise I'll be doing the same (probably whilst blubbing again!) in a weeks time! Eek!

Out of the 2 versions I prefer the one with the plain white background, but this is mainly because I feel the swirls are a bit lost on the one with the part pink background - almost look like they shouldn't be there. Other design is clean, crisp and info is clearly visible which is what you want!

Loving the castle BTW - which one is it? We're hoping to have our group shots in our local castle gardens after our wedding, weather permitting! xxx

Another vote for the first one!

Have you thought about using the castle image across all your stationery - invites, placecards, table plan etc? It could look really effective.

We're getting married in a museum, but having our pics in the gardens of Rochester Castle in Kent...it's a crumbling old Norman Keep, but perfect setting locally for pics!

I agree, be lovely to keep your castle theme going across your invites, table plan, table names etc if possible! Different and stunning! I love architecture so always fascinated by these old buildings that were made long before the big machiniery of our times! x

What a cool venue: a museum! Love that. Rochester Castle looks fab!

Yea we really wanted a 'wow' venue without spending a fortune, am thrilled with ours. Tint' it pretty:

I have to go with the 2nd option as I'm very much a girly girl and love pink. I think the swirls look good on the pick background. Lovely design.

I prefer the first - you still get the pink theme on it but it's crisper. Looks great
