Friday's 'roll on hometime' question

It's sooo quiet at work today and this afternoon is really dragging. So, to help me pass some time I have a question for you all.

If you were to give one piece of advice to a newly engaged bride to be, what would it be?

I think I would have three words of advice; take your time. There's no need to rush into anything, whether it be deciding on a date, a venue, or who to pick as bridesmaids. The last thing you want is to end up regretting something.

Great questions December1984 and good advice!

I think mine would be, don't lose sight of why you want the wedding, at the end of the day it's about being married to OH and thats the important thing, from everything I have heard the day will pass in a bit of a blur (hopefully in my case a champagne / pimms frosted blur at that!)?

My advice...

Don't ever bother with a money poem or doves or butterflies...

They just ain't the done thing!

I would echo what all of you have said so far - very good advice! Especially these: don't sweat the small stuff, and it's only as stressful as you make it.

From personal experience the main thing I would say is: Don't let family politics influence or force you into anything you don't want to do. Personally I have let OH's mum dictate a bit too much concerning our guest list and it's gone a bit far now but I do regret not putting more of a foot down to begin with.
