Friend's Hen Do

MrsToffee, 6 April, 2016 at 23:56 Posted on Planning 0 4

I was here last year as a bride but now I'm a bridesmaid to my BIL's fiance and it's her hen do next weekend, have planned a few games for during the day/early evening but wanted some fun for later on, the people on the hen do don't all know each other very well and I don't think anyone's up for major embarrassment so I thought a photo scavenger hunt would be the best bet; so far I have things like a photo of something old/new/borrowed/blue, a photo of a hen, things beginning with the brides and grooms name among others. I need just a few more ideas please, preferably ones that don't have to involve us approaching strangers as I'm not sure the hen would be comfortable with that.

Ooooh - you could use Goosechase (a scavenger hunt app)... It's for photo scavenger hunts and you get to set the tasks! So you can include all the things you've already mentioned but they have to be photographed as proof. But you can also add other things like 'a re-enactment from a famous movie scene' or 'a photo of you acting out the hen's initials' etc. We did it at work once and it was awesome - you do it in teams. Then as you do each task, the photos get uploadd in real time so you set a time limit, everyone comes back, and then you can look through all the photos as a group (iPad is good for smaller groups... TV or even Projector screen ideally for huge group!). You can allocate points for each photo too and the team with the most points wins a prize!

I like the famous movie scene and initials ideas, there's only 5 of us on the do so wasn't going to do teams, just give them to the hen to do then thought she could nominate one/all of us to help. Will have a look at that app though!

Just wanted to say thanks to much ado for the Goosechase app suggestion - my friend's Hen tomorrow and I've set up a game via that app - so easy to do and should be a right laugh Smiley laugh will report back next week and let you know how we get on!

Oh awesome! So glad to hear you're giving it a go... Do let me know how you get on (I only tried it once and somewhere else set it up!). I'm thinking of using it at my own wedding between the ceremony and reception for any guests who want something to do so I'd love some feedback on how you find it! Smiley smile

Hope you have fun! Smiley smile

It's not part of the scavenger hunt but my bridesmaid organised some t-shirts for us all to draw on... they had to draw something relating to me or about me or how they knew me and I had to draw my husband.

They also wrote on notes something about me and I had to guess who wrote it.

It was quite difficult as some of them I've only known for a couple of years (a lot of people couldn't make it sadly) but it was quite fun Smiley smile
