FTAO Footlong

alyj66, 14 September, 2014 at 12:02 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 32

I was wondering if you could use some of your magic on this photo. We struggled to get any good images on the day but I particularly like this one, just not the fence posts. I'm going to have a go at lightening some of the guest photos but know that I can't chop out a fence. Thanking you in advance.

You do? Am I being overly picky? We have so few good outside pictures that are nothing like I dreamt that I just wanted to make them better.

I can do it but like the others say, it provides nice leading lines that draw focus to you. I'll do it for comparison though. Send the biggest pic file you have to ********************@*****.***

Thank you, I have sent you a few so that you can choose, I don't expect you to alter them all but I didn't know which one to send!

I agree ,I like the fence posts too, as they frame you both.

Could you just get rid of the wire inbetween the fence posts?

Its a lovely photo aly - its got a great "vintagey" classy vibe about it.

it absolutely poured on our day as well so I know it can be a bit disappointing not to get the pics you envisaged.

    Absolutely poured it down!

I think whenever you think of your day before hand you have such a vision in mind, you get a bit miffed for it not to turn out that way. I've just had a look at your report, you have some great pics. I am loving the brollie shots.

I'd do anything to have the weather you had - and to have been able to get a shot like that! Our rain was so heavy we couldn't use the 'wedding' brolly and I had to go down the aisle five minutes early because the rainwater was coming in the back of the church. Obviously that meant I didn't get any of the shots I wanted, and there isn't one of H and on our own that I like. You are lucky - that shot is atmospheric and I like the fence!

Haha did you see the poor couple who had a tipi and it was actually knee deep in water? They actually ended up totally rocking it and and it looked funny and unique. Such a shame though!

I was going to mention that one! It looked fab despite the rain/flooding. Sorry you didn't get the pics you wanted either ATB. Us poor August brides - we all got married though. ?

FWIW I think the photo is lovely and the fence help makes the photo as it leads the eye into the picture.

We too had a VERY wet wedding day back in 2010 and actually i think it added to the photographs as they are more interesting.I have Brolly and Welly shots galore in my photo album. Maybe look at your photos again in a week and see how you feel about them then.

Your comments have made chuckle lots and yes we did have the better end of the rain spectrum in comparison to the other stories above.

Footlong, I love the third photo and I think it lends a different perspective to the initial image. I do like them both equally, thank you for having fiddle,my curiosity is sated.

Here is a similar lighting scheme but with fence posts preserved.

Footers out if interest what's the differences between 1,2 and 3 or is there not much, only out of curiosity as they all look the same to me and I wondered if I was being an idiot?

Loved the fence posts but really like it without too.

1 is a basic set of improvements to the light, particular to make the photo look less cloudy and dull. In 2 and 3, I have overlaid a soft pink-peach, to try to fade it out in a vintage style, while keeping it warm (3 is just a stronger overlay than 2).

That one looks alot sharper. We're thinking of having this one enlarged as it's our favourite image so will probably go for the last one you sent but I'll still get in one of the images without the fence posts somewhere!

Ah I see now, I was looking for something with the posts. Love the last one with brighter colours plus posts. You're very good at this foot long!
