Funky Wellies

Weather Girl, 18 August, 2009 at 13:07 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 15

Does anyone have any funky wellies they can flash me? (I hope no one reads this quickly and mistakes it for something else!!) I'm looking for a pair and have spent ages searching online but can't quite find what I'm looking for and any that I do find aren't in my size. So I'm after some inspiration, they look so different when they're actually being worn, and if anyone can recommend somewhere to buy from that would be great!

TIA

I've got Hunter wellies, and they do quite a good range of colours, and they've lasted really well (i don't wear wellies THAT often, but I was going through about 2 pairs a year before).

Also Joules do quite a nice range of unusual styles.

There's a couple of Hunter ones I like but I didn't really want to pay any more than £30 really as I probably won't use them all that often. Although having said that maybe I would if I had some!

I really like the wellies that M&S have this year - good colours and a choice of shorter or long.

Will this link work, I wonder?

Thanks Marsie, I hadn't even thought of trying M&S! Actually quite liking the buckle ones in purple!

I have hunters but just in traditional green I'm afraid as they are working boots ?

Joules have some lovely funky wellies http://www.joulesclothing.com/pages/product/product.asp?prod=H_WELLYPRINT&ctgry=Womens_Wellies

I'm afraid that I have boring old green Huntress wellies as my "dailies"!

But like Wodger_woo said, Joules have some lovely wellies at the moment.

The M&S ones are very glossy and pretty. I'm trying to convince myself I DON'T need the powder blue laced ones, having bought some Hunter Festivals last year (for those of us fat of calf!).

I bought some in Office a couple of years ago, they are yellow with pink cats and blue dogs on. Don't wear them very often, but love them. Think they were abot £15 or £20

I've got some Tayberry wellies which came in very handy earlier this year for trudging to work through the snow!

Thanks everyone. Think I'll have a browse over some of the websites and try to make a decision. There's so many to choose from!

Although they are expensive I'd really recommend Hunters as well - they last forever and have good support in the design so that they are comfortable to wear for hours, unlike many other pairs I've tried. I don't wear mine that often (and they are in ridiculous pale blue as that was only colour in the shop in my size) but they are so comfortable and hard-wearing. Have had them for years and they look brand new - when I can be bothered to clean the mud off that is.

I bought mine in Brantano for about £15 and they are very comfortable. They may not be Hunters in quality but they do the job as and when I need them. They still sell them in their stores now.

    Oooooh, cool wellies Mrs M!

The Welli Art site looks a bit handy, too, and some of their stuff's reduced at the moment.

I could do with a funky pair for walking the dogs but I'm not paying Hunter prices [insert skinflint icon]

I have a pair of Tayberry wellies. Highly recommend them. Very comfy, and they come in their own bag!
