We first went last March for 1 week, stayed at the Rui - They are MASSIVE the two Rui hotels are basically the same just different names.. The food is good and the pools are nice but the sea at that point is wind surfers paradise so not great for swimming.. We had a good week but by day 3 we were bored (neither of us are great at sitting still for too long!) We got a taxi 3 euros to the main town of Santa Maria wondered around found the most amazing beach and bars and resturants! We also met a few ex pats and made some great friends..

The second time we went was October it wasn't windy and was right at the end of the rainy month (september) we stayed in an appartment right near Santa Maria, this was our view each day from the pool- minus the people it was empty!!!

The second time we were self catering - but there was a bakers round the corner each morning and the most amazing resturants each night! I loved it and would go back in a flash.. It isn't for everyone - as some people would hate it and find it so under developed.. Our friends liked it to Havana in Cuba that feel..

If you do book give me a shout I will put you in touch with our expat friends out there and also recommend the resturants to go to!! If you time it well you can drink happy hours for about 4 hours a night!!!?

The best part was walking along the beach not a person in sight.. I want to go back!!! ?

That is my screen saver at work.. just a normal walk along the beach for 2 hours!

Do we warned maybe by the time you go there might be another airline but at the moment it is only Thomson the flight is cramped, if you pay for a exit seat do... but those 5.5 hours in the plane are so worth it when you get there!!! xx

We are going to deffo upgrade our flights also going all inclusive. Reason we want to speak to a travel agent (Have rang Thompson and spoke to two different people so far but they are C#@p as 3 weeks later they still have not called back!!!!!) is to see if we can get a free honeymoon suite upgrade x
