Gardeners, a little help please?

Puss, 13 April, 2009 at 18:17 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

Mad as it may sound I have no daisies in my garden and I want them. What seeds do I need to buy? I have googled and I am totally bemused by all the choice, I just want bog standard garden daisies that pop up in the grass so my girls can make daisy chains.

Thanks!

I don't think you can get daisy seeds, can you? They're a weed. Maybe go and sneakily dig up a few plants in the park and bung them in?

I think the closest seed packet you'll get is

alternatively, dig some up from somewhere else and put them in your grass- they'll soon spread themselves.

You need bellis perennis seeds - chiltern seeds do them here

I think daisies are lovely, they remind me of being at primary school, sitting in the schools playing fields making massive daisy chains. Utterly idyllic.

    Thanks all!

Hurrah, I shall have daisies in my garden if it kills me. The Big One was so excited when she saw flowers she could pick at my Aunt's house and again in France as they were covered in daisies!

You can buy them as a pot plant as well if you didn't want to have them on your grass. I have seen them in sale in Hombase in the past.
