Cracklin Rosie, 20 April, 2009 at 20:43 Posted on Planning 0 12

I'm thinking of having gatefold style invitations and need some inspiration.

Can anyone help?

We're getting ours done early as someone I know is getting them done for free for us, and we're having a gatefold style too. On the two folded bits we're having both of our names in quite large, but soft style of font, and we're going to have them tied in the centre with a ribbon. Think colour wise we're sticking to cream card and champagne, or gold, colour ribbon. I think it's fairly simple and the style that many gatefold cards seem to go by. Similar sort of idea I found here: http://karlinkards.co.uk/gatefold_1.html

Not sure if that helps much!

I'm having gatefold invitations. I'm making them myself so not quite as professional as most!

Obviously after doing 90+ the bows have got much better since this pic was taken!

They were pretty easy to make, just used a bit of double sided tape on the ribbon at the back to keep it in place.

IIRC soon2bsummers has gatefold invitations too, maybe have a look back through her posts? I've just finished the last of my day invitations. OH asked me how many I've done now, I replied 70 or 80 I think, to which he said 'don't know why you just didn't e-mail people'. I think he has a bloody good point!

I ordered all the card precut and pre creased for mine but Oh isn't as keen on them so might end up putting it all on the for sale board as I'll have to order some new stuff.

Thanks everyone, your invitations all look great!

Hi Cracklin (are you a neil diamond fan or....?!)

Are you not having gatefold cards anymore then cos Mr Rosie isn't keen?

I only ask cos a) I do gatefolds so can offer inspiration if you were, or (b) if you're selling the gatefold cards now I might be interested in them!

    I used one of these.....

with a lettering stencil. You put the card in between the sheets and press down. Its easy, but took ages, but I just did it in front of the TV in the evenings!

Not sure what's happening yet, I'll hold on to them for another few days just in case but If I'm going to sell them can I get in touch with you for first refusal. I won't feel so bad about buying new card if i can sell this card.

Any inspiration is more than welcome, maybe I could change his mind.
