Getting from venue to hotel

CSayer, 12 April, 2010 at 12:09 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi

Our venue doesn't have accommodation and so we will need to get from our evening party to where we have chosen to stay. Has anyone had the same issue to get around and what type of transport are you booking?

I don't want to pay for the car I'm arriving in to wait around all day until midnight! plus i dont want to call a local taxi as they might have been smoking in it, not very clean etc.

Any ideas welcome!

    We're getting a taxi.

It's against the law to smoke in taxis now so that shouldn't be a problem...

Only other thing I can think of is if you get a lift off someone who's not drinking???

I think taxis are the best option, thats what most people have between venue and hotel if not staying at the venue.

Also, i thought you couldnt smoke in taxi's anyway - so you should be ok

I'm trying to decide about this too, taxi sounds like a good bet but have a massive fear of booking it a few days in advance and them not turning up!x

We will be booking a taxi for us to travel to our hotel and our wedding venue has supplied a coach for our guests. They will pay upto three runs anymore and we need to pay the difference.

Why not try speaking to your venue as if they have no accommodation I'm sure they might have some discounts set up with local companies.

Taxi would be the best way forward. Do you know any local taxi's that have posher cars, we have some which are people carriers and others which do mercs for the same price. I would request a nicer car.
