Getting married in NYC, as easy as it seems?!

Tigglettchic, 20 September, 2012 at 22:07 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0

Hello all, this is my first post and I am very excited!!

DF and I have decided on NYC for our wedding, however, it seems too good and easy to be true!

We understand we need to get a wedding license 24 hours before, does that mean we have to stay in NYC fro 24 hours?? Or can we go to New Jersey to our house in between?

We are probably going to have to end up going through a compnay that offes packages as I am loosing the will to live with trying to find an officiant! Has anyone got any ideas as it seems a great deal of money just to ensure we have a person to do it?!

Another issue is hair and make-up, I have decided that my mum and I will stay in the city the night before the wedding so we can go and pick our flowers etc, I would love to have someone do my hair and make up but cannot find anyone that explains it well enough, any hints?

Finally, the new law about not being able to rent a flat or apartment in NYC for less than a month has screwed us with accommodation, does anyone know how to get around this?

Sorry for the many questions, but any information would be awesome!

Thanks! xxx
