Getting stressed out about shooooes! Any suggestions? *flash*

Sarah-March-2013, 22 March, 2012 at 07:33 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi ladies,

I bought my dress really quickly and so wanted to really take my time and find the perfect shoes. I started with all these amazing ideas but over time these have been reigned right in because my OH is the exact same height as me so everything I love is far to high. I bought a lovely pair and had to send them back because when we were standing together it was like there was a whole head of a difference and it looked ridiculous.

So when in Next the other day I tried on a pair and stood next to him and they seemed fine, so I asked the assistant to measure and the heel was 3.5 inches. My OH said "you'd be fine with 4 inches easily then".

So I went on next online and ordered a pair that were 10cm (3.9 inches), got them yesterday and we still look ridiculous! How can 0.4 inches make a difference?

My mum ordered me them and she is going to be hacked off having to return them again. I have scowered the internet and I just can't find anything that I like with a low heel, I have never owned a pair of low heels in my life, they are just not me!

I just want to find the right shoes ☹️

This is my dress and the 2 pairs I have tried buying so far if anyone has any ideas...

These are mine and I'm stressing that they are not high enough! I love the ones with the bow on. Where are they from?

The second ones are from next, £38. The first ones are debenhams (boohoo, I want them back!)

I do love the second ones Vikki, and contemplated buying them when in Debenhams at the weekend, I cant think now what stopped me.

I think I'm going to have to resign myself to a 2 inch or under heel. Has anyone had bespoke shoes made?

I had the same problem so originally ordered these from Dune which are 2.5"

But then changed my mind and got these instead which are also 2.5".

I think the problem is that going from 3.5 to 4 means that the platform at the front is also getting higher and that is making the difference. I would try for something without a platform

I've got mine from BHS, they have quite a few to choose from, heals are about 8cm, so just over 3 inches. Reasonably priced and comfortable as well. x

This may sound completely bonkers and i've no idea if it's even possible but would a cobbler be able to lower them for you??? They can re-heel shoes so maybe they could somehow lower the height by taking some of the heel away and then re-heeling?? Or is that a completely stupid thought? ?

Are these the ones which have a gold-coloured heel?? I looked at them on Jimmy Choo website but wasnt sure if the different coloured heel looked silly :/ Also, the heels look quite small, like thin, and I was worried about balancing/sticking in the grass/mud when outside? how are they for walking in etc?? sorry for all questions!
