Getting to London City Airport help please

Lurker, 8 June, 2009 at 19:34 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

I am due to fly from here on the Sat 20th (10am check in) and am coming from Surrey. I was planning on getting to London Bridge, Jubilee Line to the DLR, then DLR to London City...however the Jubilee Line is suspended.

So, is there another (easy) route I can take, bearing in mind I'll have luggage. My alternative is to get a cab from L.Bridge to Tower Gateway and pick up the DLR from there, but no idea on traffic at that time on a Sat morning, or how far it is, how long it will take etc.

Any help would b gratefully received.

The main alternative would be to go to Bank and get the DLR from that. The DLR is quite buried within bank so regardless of whether you got a bus/cab/tube there its still a bit of a hike with stairs etc (escalator works continue there) so a pain with lots of luggage.

Cab to Tower gateway would probably be 10 minutes ish at that time (although could be longer) and I'd go there as the station is far more user friendly. There can sometimes be a bit of a queue for cabs at LB I'd allow plenty of time.

I'd get a cab from LB to London City.

That time in the morning it will take about 15mins & take you to the terminal entrance

Cheers both. I'm delighted I can bypass Bank, nightmare station.

I love the idea of a cab straight from L.Bridge to L.City - 15 mins is perfect <lazy>
