Gift for fiance on wedding morning?

EAC13, 24 October, 2012 at 08:11 Posted on Planning 0 16

Morning!

I'm sure this has been asked many times before but hoping somebody can help me! On the morning of our wedding, I'd like to give my fiance a gift bag with a few things in it. Was thinking of a new scent, something for the honeymoon and then a bigger gift. Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks Smiley smile

For a bigger present I bought my OH some silver cufflinks engraved with the co-ordinates of where we got engaged and where we got married. There are quite a few places on Not On The High Street which sell them.

One of my OM friends suggested (as a fun gift) some socks that say something along the lines of "so you don't get cold feet!" I though this was fab, but have since looked and can't find them!

I'd love to get an autograph from Andy Murray, with a message wishing OH a wonderful day. He loves Andy Murray. I don't really know how to go about doing this though.

TBH, I think the best thing you can give is a heartfelt letter or card. Your words will mean so much to him.

I made a gift box of various things for mine, each with little tags on them that I'd written and it was the best part of the present according to him, that I made all that effort rather than what was in it. I think I had

groom socks- incase he got cold feet

a watch- to make sure your on time

a funny guide to marriage- to help us last

a pair of cufflinks engraved with personal messages- to remind him who we are

chocolate- something sweet until he saw me

a mug- for his mornign caffeine boost

a mini whiskey bottle- to help calm the nerves

wedding tissues- for the moment he realised he was stuck with me

As long as it is something meaningful, whether larger or small, I'm sure he will love it.

I got an amazing ring and he got nothing, so I'd love to present him with his dream bike (pushbike). I need to enlist the help of the shop where my other half goes and drools, and buy it in secret, if possible. It will be about 1.5k so I need to save hard and in secret.

If not that, an engraved watch.

I bought my Fiance a Tag Heuer Watch he had been looking at for ages and wouldn't buy himself. I also got him a congratulations Wedding certificate signed by the Liverpool football club, I also got him an Oh So Cherished Grooms journal and filled in all of the memorable questions for him to read on the morning of the wedding.

I went a bit OTT with this one and got him a box of bits which has socks (so he doesn't get cold feet), a book of "Don'ts for Husbands" and a book of "sex tips for husbands and wives" (both little books from 1890's-1910's which are quite funny), tartan cufflinks (his mum was scottish and she passed away some years ago so thought he would like to think of her on the day and have these to remind him), a signed card from the England Cricket Team and a signed photo from the coach of the England Rugby Team (he loves his sport) and a personalised welsh love spoon with our names and our wedding date (he was born in Wales!).

After i bought the bit for the box i then saw a watch which he has been obsessing about for years (Omega Seamaster) which was massively expensive but i managed to get an amazing deal so that i only paid a third of which i would have had to pay normally!

Oh and i have got him a card too!!
