Are many of you buying gifts for your mothers/parents at all?

I have bought my mum a 'My beautiful journal' from Oh so cherished that I have filled in and am buying both mothers a 'Wedding Day' Rose bush.

Yeah. We're buying my parents an "Afternoon Tea" gift voucher & his parents a meal voucher for a nice restaurant somewhere.

We've bought silver photo frames for each set of parents, the idea being that we'll buy them a photo of their choice of the day.

I like the photo frame idea. Will you give them to them at the wedding?

Probably the night before. The other gifts for our bridal party will be given on the morning of the wedding so they can use them (jewellery etc) so it would feel wierd to just give the parents gifts and no one else actually at the wedding.

I bought the mums jewellery to wear on our wedding day and little silver photo frames with crystal from monsoon. Also presented them with bouquets of cream roses and red berries (winter wedding) at the wedding breakfast.

If you need any ideas for jewellery gifts, take a little look at my website below! Hope I can help.

I am hoping to get presents for the mums, it was going to be the traditional flowers, but someone on here mentioned a brooch and I thought that would be lovely, they could wear it on the day and again afterwards. Lots of people are saying about these journals, I might have to look into them and see what they are all about. The other thing we re doing is getting parent albums from photographer, so mums will have an exact replica of our album (just smaller size)

We have bought them both a rose bush which will be given in the speeches - just liked the idea that they can keep it in their gardens and its due to flower around our anniversary each year!

We have got them a bouquet of flowers to give them during the speeches and we are going to make them a photo album up once we get the CD with our wedding photos on it.

They will also get a copy of the dvd.

Hmmm. Judging by all the answers above I'm the only person who isn't feeling a need to buy parent gifts! We will probably give them all a framed photo from the day afterwards, but we're doing everything ourselves and I don't want to be giving gifts just because other people expect us to. If they were involved in the planning and helping, then yes. We're giving our bridesmaids and best man a little token gift, but that's because they are helping us. Plus, there is a huge difference between the level of interest the parents are showing. It would be wrong IMO to publicly give a gift to one parent and not others, so we're not doing it at all.
