gifts for bridesmaids?

Chlolla, 18 March, 2010 at 12:51 Posted on Planning 0 20

Hello everyone and congratulations to those out there getting married!

Me and my love are getting married in early August, but I am already trying to get as many things done as possible.

As someone who is quite a bit a veteran of the bridesmaid process (4 times I had to wear those god-awful 'outfits') I wanted to make things a bit better for mine. Since the four of them will have to wear the same outfits, and will practically look the same, I wanted to make each feel a little different, and make them stand out a bit.

I found this site which has nice looking name necklaces that fit within our budget, and should look nice on my bridesmaids.

Do you think it's a good idea? Are my thoughts correct on this thing? I just wanted them each to feel special, and actually have a small gift that they can cherish and remember. And of course I want them to stand out with their names, and not just as "generic bridesmaid #2".

Comments and opinions more than welcome!

Good Luck to everyone!

Chloe

I think its a great idea to offer the bridesmaids their own gift as opposed to giving them all the same gift, after all they are each going to have different tastes, etc. I came across this site www.rosegardenaccessories.com who at the moment are doing a great deal at the moment. You can buy a set that consists of a choker, a pair of earrings and a bracelet, so different items for each of our bridesmaids but all of a similiar style so if the style works for your wedding they can wear on the day as well, this is the direct link for you http://www.rosegardenaccessories.co.uk/epages/62067017.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/62067017/Products/SO002

    Good luck! x

I'm not a seasoned hitcher (and I'm sure they know best for a reason) but I'll give you the benfit of the doubt on this one.

I like the idea of something individual but if I were a bridesmaid I wouldn't want a necklace with my name on it. I've never liked them and firmly blame Carrie Bradshaw! Loving the shoes, lady, but you can keep your necklace! - that was to Carrie Bradshaw, not you by the way! ?

I think it's quite funny that the second one didn't pick up on the first one being an advertiser!

Sorry, obviously didn't make myself clear... I meant it was funny that the second advertiser didn't know they were advertising to another advertisment!!!

Phooey at everyone who thinks I'm just an advertiser, if you don't like the suggestions you can just go ahead and say so.

No need to go all bridezilla on me...

and thanks for the other suggestions,

Oh wait there were no other suggestions you all just said nothing!

Well that's hilarious, firstly 2 people in one thread try advertising when it's clearly against the rules and then when outed they turn sour. Not really much room for people like that around here I would say.

However Chlolla we may have it wrong and if you really are genuine then I suggest either being friendly and supportive like the rest of the genuine members or not posting at all. You have to understand that it doesn't look good if you are a new member and you start posting links and sounding very advert-like. If you are genuine then how about you start proving it..... We're a lovely bunch of people really ?

I found a list of wedding gifts for bridesmaids, not sure if they are the most popular but they seem nice

    Hi All

I would like to clarify that i am not an advertiser neither was i pretending to pose as a bride-to-be. Firstly, my profile clearly shows my name 'nicola russill-roy' - as the double barrel name shows i am already married, my post did not state that i was getting married and neither am i an advertiser. I am a PR agent of a number of wedding brands, and have first hand experience of such brands that i recommend. In my opinion recommending a good brand in response to brides-to-be is not a breach of these rules. If i were merely advertising brands names without having experience of the brand that yes this would be wrong, but on a personal level i endorse all Rose Garden Accessories, had i have known about the brand when i was getting married i would have been proud to walk down the aisle wearing one of their pieces. The fact that this post was about bridesmaid gifts and the fact in my opinion this brand offers fantastic solutions i wanted to share this with other brides-to-be.

    Sorry for being helpful!

Ok let's get one thing straight here!

We do not mind genuine help advice and suggestions, especially as that is what we are mainly here for, but you do have to see it from the genuine regular hitchers POV, there are continuous spam style threads from advertisers (trolls) who quite frankly spoil it for us all including the HIBS, who keep to the rules and regs of advertising etc on here.

So please forgive us if our tone is a little less than welcoming but neither of you portrayed a very genuine introduction to yourselves, it was all very structured and, well....... advertiser like!!!

Nicola i may have overlooked it but im not sure that anyone actually said you were 'pretending' to be a 'bride to be'

Hmmm and the sarcastic comments wont score you any brownie points either.

So hey less of the b****g and lets get back to the task in hand - wedding planning!!!! woo hoo

Sorry if I offended anyone with my comments, I just took all the things that were said in a very harsh manner, and at that moment that was all I had to let my aggression out.

Just wanted to get some earnest suggestions that would help me make the most important day of my life easier.

Thanks and once again I apologize.
