Gifts for Readers

tayto, 10 April, 2013 at 09:40 Posted on Planning 0 4

I'm just wondering what other people think about getting gifts for friends/family who are doing readings for you? I did a reading at a wedding once and was given a personalised candle as a thank you and I'm now wondering if it is the norm to give a gift to those who are doing readings. Any advice greatly welcomed!

Reader 1: My very nervous uncle. I gave him a set of golfballs (he is a keen golfer) and a card, thanking him for having the balls to do a reading!

Reader 2: BM. She got nothing extra on top of the gift bag I gave all BMs.

We didn't get our readers anything. (My daughter and a mutual friend who is the church curate) They didn't expect anything and both said they were very honoured and delighted to be chosen.

    Now I feel guilty!

I wouldnt say you needed to get them a present we didnt (alhtough I might owe my auntie a big pressie now as she also did a reading at our christening.)

I can make you a nice personalised card for just £1.50 if you did want to give them something (something like this can be amended to reader)

We didn't get our readers anything either - to be honest, I kind of forgot!

When I sang at my BIL's wedding, they got me a little box with some bits in it, I think a purse, some earrings etc. They gave the same to my other SIL who did the cake and the other one who did the stationery.
