Ginni, Sophie and bread lovers everywhere

Further to last weeks discussion about baking bread with leaven, because I am an all round nice bloke, I have put this up for you http://doughblogs.wordpress.com/

Have a read and when you want your leaven send an email to the address on the front page and it'll be sent. Make sure you have the relevant kit including the flour etc.

Ok going to try and post again!

Thanks for that Nick, I have recently got the handmade loaf book, loving making homemade bread. Tasty and cheap to do.

I am in the process of setting up a recipe blog for the cakes and chutneys I make, I want more people to bake.

Nick this is very cool. If wheat didn't make me blow up like Mr Creosote, i'd be trying it tomorrow! I can picture you being featured in Rick Stein's food heroes at some point, with the mellow music in the background and you lovingly tending to a loaf in a lovely rustic kitchen ?. I do totally agree with you that convenience is killing food. Id rather have the cheapest of cheap home made foods than a McD's anyday.

Now you need to link a twitter account to the blog to be really down with the cool kids, and tweet every time you update it.

I've just had a quick look - are you sponsored by an Olive Oil company or is it just co-incidence that the bottle is in all the shots of the finished bread? ?

Ahem. Your home made bread has chemicals in it too. It's literally laden with them.

Hmmm. Factual, but I don't like the implication that natural = good and man-made = bad.

Will write something on rising later - might need reminding though as brain is sieve-like just now

I want to send the link to all my foodie friends but I'm concerned that you'll get inundated with requests. Am I sad that I'm actually looking forward to getting started and want to book a days annual leave to masterbake?!

yes i take your point. its more about the actual product though. i think you d have a hard time disagreeing that bread made from organic flour, salt, water and wild yeast is not "better" taste and health wise than a loaf of pappy white warburtons. in my opinion of course.

It is a matter of opinion though - 'better' is subjective and anything to do with sensory analysis (taste, flavour, smell, looks) is tricky to pin down. Health benefits of organic are debatable so far - environmental benefits possibly better characterised.

I absolutely agree that I prefer it, but I wouldn't let that go into one of my press releases. There are ways of wording it though - will have a think of a way you can say it without making my eyes bleed ?
