Give me a slap!!!

debs1701, 23 January, 2010 at 18:50 Posted on Planning 0 7

I know I have been on here posting random questions but with almost being at the 6 month countdown I still have quite a bit to do and obviously the financial situation of having to wait 5 weeks from xmas to get paid has slowed things down but I'm not in the mood to do anything ☹️.

I have posted h2b's divorce papers to his ex again (since the dog ate the 1st set!), h2b still has to pick his BM and GM, I have tried on countless occassions to get addresses from his mum for his side of the family to no avail, when I ask her it's as if she can't be bothered, suits need to be measured next month, invitations (I will order these at the end of the month when I get paid), favours, finalise guest list etc etc

After making the STD's I can't be bothered posting them now but spent all that time and money making them so think I have to, especially so thatt people can book the time off work as it's a bank holiday weekend...might just finalise the guest list and send them all a text ?.

I'm all sorted, BM's are all sorted, final payments need to sorted (on my budget planner anyway) for tog, florist, cars, venue decor, food, dj and harpist, songs need to sorted for dj and harpist, make up trial, hair trial, underwear needs bought, the strapless bra I have hurts so wouldn't be comfy wearing it all day as I might end up ripping it off in the middle of the ceremony.

FG dress can wait until about April or so along with her shoes, she is 8, would it be too soon even then to sort out her shoes or should I wait until closer to the time?

I'm afraid of booking time off work to sort these things incase I need to book time off for meeting with the wedding organiser person from the venue or having to meet the registrar on a weekday.

Going to speak to h2b later when he wakes up, he's been working all day from 6 about makybe contacting his neice to get the addresses for his side as one of his sisters lives in Australia as his mum keeps making excuses...it's really driving me nuts!!!!

I'm in serious need of a slap to get back on track, is there something I should be doing now that I might have missed?, should I be "relaxing" at this point, am I worrying over nothing?

Have you thought about your wedding cake yet?

Apart from that I suggest putting your feet up and having a nice relaxing evening before you burst! x

Debs, you are sooooo organised in comparrison to me so I agree with Felicity that you need to rest, put your feet up and 'relax'.

Wish I'd done as much as you & I'm getting married before you. Not letting it get to me (just hope I find BM dresses soon!).

    Chill Woman Chill!

Last time I checked you were even more organised than me!

I went through the 'can't be bothered' stage just between November and about 2 weeks ago! I think seeing 6 months on my ticker gave me the kick I needed!

Felicity, I got the cake sorted last year ☹️, I probably should be relaxing but it's the thought of this coming week being the end of January and not wanting to have forgotten about anything or not doing something at this stage when it should be getting done!

Think I might just need to consult one of my many lists to so that I can relax, or maybe I should write nup another one for the things I have left to do ?

I have a 2010 diary which I am writing in daily when I have done something.
That way I can read back and think about just how much I have actually done, and that comforts me a bit.

I have just booked my reception room and put down the deposit for it, so that's one thing less to worry about.
But I've been having second thoughts about the dress as I've found someone who can do something similar for nearly a third cheaper, so I'm negotiating a deal with her currently. with the view to ordering on Friday.
    How very exciting!

I did start writing in a diary, things that I had still need to sort out and when I should do them but that has all gone to pot as I had to wait until I had enough money to do things.

What's your dress like?, have you flashed it yet? ?

I will flash it once it's arrived. ?

It's an alternative dress, medieval/pagan in deep green and ivory. Can't decide between all velvet, or all velvet and brocade though.

I think you need to put your feet up for a couple of weeks and take a break. You seem pretty sorted at the mo and a little break will do you the world of good.
