We havent had ours yet but i got warned that they separate you and then ask you each other's DOB, father's occupation and what each other does for a living - not that this is exactly hard to answer i guess! it'll be like being on mr & mrs!! (not sure if they all do this)

and it says on our info sheet that we have to take 2 proof of id, passport, birth certificate and something to prove where we live!

Ooo yay mrs wheeler your experience sounds better. my friend must have had a particularly evil registrar for splitting them up!!!

We got split up when we gave notice. It made me panicky, even though they are simple questions, that i would mess up! It's ok really though!!

I should imagine that most districts see the couple separately

The registrar asks for your full name and any others you may use or have been known by, your date of birth, marital status, your nationality, your occupation, your address, your father's name (natural, adoptive or step-father if he was/is married to your mother) and his occupation. They then ask the same about your partner - bar father's details.

You must take id with you that proves name,age,nationality,former/other names and address and marital status (other than single) and you pay your notice fees (shortly going up!)

It's nothing to be worried about, it's not an exam and not wanting to typecast all men but many grooms can't remember bride's middle names and date of birth!

I wouldn't worry too much - I got OH's job title wrong and we got through ok!

I did this too!! We were separated & went 1st so he was able to correct me. They also asked me if I was related to H2B!! It was a very quick & straight forward & lasted about 15 minutes. Nothing to worry about
