Giving notice

bliss_balloons , 14 August, 2014 at 11:38 Posted on Planning 0 5

Did not realise you could only give notice in the week, now we both have to book a day off work just to go in. Very annoying! Took them a week to call us back as well. ?

It is annoying, there's so many weddingy type things that really are a pain when you work full time especially office hours. we were lucky in the giving notice thing in that it was while i was off with depression and oh finished at 3 and it's close to where he works. but yes would have stressed me out to have to have time off for it :-/

Yep! We took the afternoon off and then went ring shopping afterwards which was actually quite nice though Smiley smile

I'm trying to save as much holiday for next year as possible for honeymoon so it's a pain but I guess booking half a day off won't be too bad.

I booked the first available morning slot for ours, it didn't take very long so was probably only an hour late for work.

I was walking near our registry office one day and had a few questions so wanted to pop in, as I got closer I could see loads of wedding guests standin outside so asked one of them what time the wedding was, he said in about 20 mins so I popped in to notice the doors were locked and a sign saying 'by appointment only on weekends'. Felt a bit of a tit walking out as their tog was taking photos so I ended up crossing a road walking about 50 steps just to cross back over!

It is annoying but we're lucky OH starts work aroud 2/3 pm so we managed to for notice on a weekday.

it would be good if they done home visits for couples who can't really do weekdays!

It would be good, but i wouldn't like to see the price tag they'd put on that! :-/

I really don't know what i'd have done if i was still working full-time! ok so i know it's possible because 100's of couples work full-time and organise their weddings, this is just me. i get anxiety when i have a lot to do in a short space of time.
