Giving notice help?

ExpensiveRedCakes50713, 3 March, 2019 at 15:14 Posted on Planning 0 1

Me and my fiancé are just starting to plan our wedding but we are planning a very private and basic register office wedding somewhere around the Lake District. We are having no family or friends and even hoping to have strangers as witnesses. However I have a question regarding giving notice, we live quite far from where we are intending to get married, our registration district is Cambridgeshire but we live in a small town about an hour from Cambridge. My question is that our registration district has multiple offices so do we have to give notice at the one closest to us? Or for example could we go a few towns over to a different town also in our registration district?

thanks in advance and apologies if this is in the wrong place, this is my first time posting

Congratulations to you. When you ring the registration service they will point you to the correct office so don’t worry. When you have given notice it is all shared electronically so it’s a very stress free experience! Good luck

I was told it just has to be one in the same council district (Central Bedfordshire for me) but they had about 4/5 so we just picked the one easiest for us to get to.
