Giving notice then moving.

Peppr Potts, 22 July, 2012 at 20:57 Posted on Planning 0

We have made an appointment to give notice on 3rd September but we've just applied for a new rental house and are waiting for the references etc to be done before we know if we've definitely got it. Because of giving notice on our flat we probably won't have moved before Sept 3rd. We're just moving within the same town/area so will it matter if we give notice and then move? I know if you move to a different area you have to give notice again but does anybody know what the procedure/protocol is for if you move within the same area?

We gave notice last September and moved in November. We rang the register office and all other suppliers to inform them of our address when we'd moved, so any post would be received. When I got to the register office on the day, she asked me to confirm my details and my new address went on the certificate. I gave notice in one district and married in another. If you're overly concerned, ring and ask t speak to a registrar.
