Giving notice: well that was quick!!

MOMB, 29 October, 2013 at 23:01 Posted on Planning 0 9

Apparently it takes weeks to get an appointment to give notice in our county. Well, no. Phoned at 4.40 tonight. Have an appointment for 9.30 on Thursday. Cue massive scramble for decrees absolute and proof of address. Still, the filing cabinet did need a good sorting!....

and we're off! Properly getting married then :-D

Do you give notice in Northampton? We booked our appointment on line and had no problem getting one either.

Yay! Well done...You've kick started me into making our appointment. Did you both have to attend? Or was it enough for you to take his identity stuff with you?

Ooh - we're giving notice on Friday - we're dedicating tomorrow to going through LOTS of boxes looking for the decree absolute and passports / proof of address - I think it might be a VERY long day

In and out in 45 mins. You both need to go as they separate you to ask questions in case you don't know each other well (ie fraudulent marriage).

Good to know how long it will take, we found the decree, only took 6 hours, but did unpack some more boxes, all easy for our 9:30 appointment now
