Glasgow Dress shopping....the Saga continues

inalein, 16 November, 2009 at 08:41 Posted on Planning 0 11

As some of you know I went dress shopping with MIL2B a couple of weeks ago and couldn't make up my mind. Well, went for another round of retail therapy with my girlies on Saturday. We started off at my friends house with a nice glass of bubbly to get us going and went to our first appointment at Reetas Fashion at 1pm. I knew which dress I wanted to try on there (the Trudy Lee) but I had my 2 friends pick one each for me to try on. Well tried those two on first and they were nice, but nothing that would confuse me in any kind of way. Last but not least I tried on the TL and yet again it was stunning. My friends liked it too.

As my 2nd appointment was not till 4 we had some time to kill and went into a pub to have a cheeky bottle of wine. Unfortunately only 2 of my friends could come, third one had to work, but I asked them anyway. (As some of you know a while back I was pondering about instead of having one CBM, having more, but there was the financial issue with the dresses). So I've decided after days and days of thinking back and forth to make my 3 pals my BM's and my german friend is staying CBM. It was funny actually, we sat down and I said to them that I have something to tell them. You could just see the colour draining out of their wee faces ? lol so I quickly added that I'm NOT pregnant.....that sure would have taken dress shopping to a whole new dimension lol. Anyway, I asked them if they wanted to be my BM's and they were absolutely delighted, close to tears. I was so touched, I didn't even expect such a strong reaction. Told them honestly that we don't have the budget to pay for 4 BM dresses and they were absolutely fine with it. Oh we were all soooo delighted!!!! ?

Anyway, slightly sidetracked from the dress shopping but here we go....walked up to June Brides and were greeted with a glass of wine by an absolutely luvely lady who told us to just have a wee look around and she'll be with us soon. As I know what I wanted (the Alfred Angelo) I picked it along with a couple of other dresses and off we went to the back. I have to say the shop is great, even the section where ppl sit donw to have wait for you to come out is very nicely set up. Went into the changing room and in she came with a pair of shoes and a basque. Put the basque on and then the AA and walked out. Oooohhh my waist was sooo tiny in this dress , it looked gorgeous, eventhough it was not in the right colour. My BM's thought so as well. So there, I've finally made my decision. AA it is.

A note on the bridal shop....June Brides seems like a great shop. The only reason I won't buy my dress from there is that I can get it just a tad cheaper in Bathgate and Bathgate is also a lot more practical for me to get to. But the lady was very very nice and gave us all the info i needed.

Oops, this turned out to be quiet a novel, sorry and well done if you made it this far lol....

I have my dress!!!!! And BM's!!!!! (went to see the 3rd yesterday to tell her, and she was delighted too) ? ?

well ok then lol....again, the picture doesn't do it justice, I had it on with a basque on Saturday and it looks fantastic (but no pics allowed in Glasgow). But here is the one from the Bathgate shop. Hope you can see them ok, I can't from work, otherwise I reload them from home tonight.

Another wee note on June Bridal....they told me that the AA dresses will go up shortly as they've received a letter from AA that the shipping costs will go up. I have written an email to Anne & Bobbies and they don't know anything about it. So I don't know if she was just talking p*sh or Anne & Bobbies just haven't received a letter. HTH

Anyway, I'm still completely exited, it's a real buzz to finally getting major things done ?
