I've never camped on Pennards, which is odd considering how many festivals I've been to. I don't suppose I ever will now, as next time we go we'll have a small child in tow, so it'll be family field for us, and a very different festival experience.

We camped on Big Ground for many years, till it got a bit crime-ridden, and full of odd folk with no sense of festival etiquette. Since then we've been in the Spring Groud/Webbs Ash area and it's been utterly lovely.

I camped at the top of Pennards the first two years I went (in the days before the Park) and although I like being near the Greenfields for food and the like, I much prefer being over by Lulus with Ally and the rest of our not so little group. This year we're splitting up a bit - we're going to Big ground next to the Kids Field/Family camping as we've got 2 children in the group, some are going to be near Lulus and the rest are going to be over on Pennards.

We were wondering about trying out the Park for camping as last year it seemed to fill up a lot slower than the rest of the site, plus it's nearer the car park we use. Failing that, I'm getting a trolley for the next time I go!

A trolley is a must. we were given a new trolley and a huge tent as wedding presents back in 2007. Best wedding presents ever!

I really should avoid this thread, I'm getting the urge to ditch the baby, mug someone for tickets and join the party!

I went to Glasto in 99...god it was hot!

But we were there for theatre things so we could stay in a secured compound without any worry of leaving our stuff. What do you lot do with you bits and pieces...lug them around all day???

Don't take anything valuable, put car and house keys in a lock up, carry my phone/camera with me. At night put my wallet at the bottom of my sleeping bag. My pal uses a baccy bag as a purse - her phone got pinched but her money was safe!

Yes I agree, don't take anything you aren't prepared to lose. Keep valuables with you in sealed plastic bags in a little back pack (I have one that you have to pull on the shoulder straps to open so no-one can get in it without me feeling the bag open. - the plastic bags are incase it rains!)

Not had any problems so far. After the wall and ticket prices went up the atmosphere is a lot safer than before. Not to say you can be careless, but also you don't need to paranoid.

We've got a fishing trolley, something like this

    http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001501&langId=-1&searchTerms=fishing+trolley&Submit=GO+%3E

They're fabulously useful to help you carry your kit as the car parks are a very long way from the camping areas. They're more of a nice-to-have than an essential. Get a decent tent first!
