You might want to take a notebook or diary and pen with you, but that's it. the first meeting is usually about why you want to get married, when you want to get married and what you need to do before you get married. As the church isn't in your parish you might not be able to marry there, or they might say you can if you attend that church regularly, or they might not have a problem with it at all.

Its nothing to worry about they are usually really nice ?

We had our first meeting a couple of months ago and it was just for the vicar to get to know us a bit better and also to put us at ease with her.

She was so lovely, talked us through the ceremony, showed us some other people's order of service etc. We are not getting married in our parish so she went through some of the formalities of bann reading etc so definitely take a note pad and pen.

    Good luck! x
