Excellent news in fact - tumour was at the least advanced stage, scans clear, blood markers coming back to within normal range. Chemo not recommended - strict surveillance of monthly bloods, bi-monthly CXR and on CT scan at 3 months, another at 1 year. We're told there's a 10-15% chance of relapse within the first 12-18 months, after that a much smaller risk. Feeling some relief, but in a slightly reserved way. Each bit of good news is great, but we're not cracking out the champers just yet. Both feeling very odd emotionally. We're going out for drinks tonight, but H2B has an exam tomorrow and I have a show in London to go to, so we may have to be sensible.
We're going to do sperm storage in a month or two. When the lump was
found, it was 3 days before it was OUT. Terrified of the slim chance it
would come back in the other testicle and instantly eliminate any
chance of biological children. We are however thinking about starting a family much sooner than we'd ever imagined now!
I'm so so proud of my fiancé for having the balls (!) to get himself checked at the first second he suspected something was wrong.
Bring on the wedding!!
